this said in a friendly manner, just remember, rico slims wanted a means to go from creative to survival.
he was given a means to do it.
just think if a player, rico sims, has his raft he created in creative and now normal, this will effect people who joined his game? don't think so.
He cannot take his raft into others games - so no harm.
if he is a good guy then he would say to his friends - hey I made this in creative and so I arrived on this boat by cheating a little then no harm done.
If he says dishonestly, hey look what I built through toil and dilemmas then he is cheating.
yep actually I can see your point it could lead to everyone changing there code so they could experiment then post their creations on you tube and say look what I built
without doing it the hard way, getting all your materials from the ocean and islands then yes this could corrupt the whole forum with BS.
So except from the innocent approach I agree with you as it is open to corruption.
You could have countless players corrupting their own games/saves too. Hex editing isn't something just anyone should be doing/trying.
I have tried fiddling there just to change a name from a rude one to a good one 'cause the game finished up being successful. boy to did i wreck stuff then. so you are right.
I think the save games are duplicated.
Every crafting game has 2 levels of fun. Once you finish the game a couple times already (as many of us did), you may want to take the experience to a whole new level.
Call it cheating if you want, it's just called modding in most games of this category : i just think it's fun and it doesnt harm anyone in a solo/coop game.
Also i find it kinda frustrating that the creative mode in Raft doesnt allow you to navigate your ship (physics are disabled). But there is a good reason for that : the movement of the ship is calculated on each block individually, which causes perfomances issues on very large vessels.
So, do not try to switch to survival with a 1000 pieces creation, you'll get a very low framerate.
Well, I'll leave you to your philosophical discussion on "how fun should be", I'm glad I could help those who appreciate gaming in all its forms and enjoy pushing a game to its limits.
Thanks to the developers, huge ovation for the work they put in the game and how they let the community define the priorities on the game's roadmap (*tormentous applause*). Keep up the good work guys.
Cheers !
Good God these anti-cheeser crowds are ridiculous. Play with your friends that you KNOW don't cheat if that is your thing otherwise your point is mute.
Well thank goodness he's gone (though I suspect not and needs only some more baiting to make a response) but if not so long.
You've in no way told anybody how people could use this to their advantage. You only unsubscribe so that you don't have to try to defend your position.

One game, Payday 2, has a pretty big modding community. 4 Players basically play a horde mode shooter as criminals. Great game. I put over 800 hours into that game, and I would not have come close to that level of enjoyment if I had not modded out a lot of the RNG for acquiring weapon attachments and cosmetics by basically turning it in a currency based system. I also added a customizeable hud, and added extra controls/commands for AI allies and hostages in my hosted lobbies, etc. The Payday 2 devs are 100% ok with people modding their game and playing with others and the only thing they ask is that you don't use DLC or achievement unlockers (which they catch and add a big red "cheater" tag to your name). They also ask that mods which change gameplay print a message to lobby chat when someone joins. That's just one example. I hardly ever ran into anyone who abused others in that game, and when I did run into someone who spawned a hundred loot bags or some nonsense I just exited out to avoid having it saved.
So what kind of modding/hacking would be unacceptable in raft?
Don't join someone else's game and do things that affect their game without their consent. Don't spawn resources, stop shark attacks, change weather, change game modes, etc. I don't know what's possible in that regard, I'm just giving examples. Things like that are not OK because you might be ruining their experience. On your raft it's your rules, I would suggest just telling people what kind of mods/hacks you are using and let them decide if they want to play with you. It's really not a big deal if you act mature about it. If you just play single player it's no body's business what you do.
People can enjoy the game however they want and you're not any better than them for enjoying vanilla the most. This game is early access and those of us who know how are altering it to suit us. It doesn't mean we can't play vanilla. Many of us have played vanilla and have no problem succeeding. It just means we want to change the game to suit our tastes. Maybe someone has built a number of big rafts already and just doesn't want to start on a 2x2 anymore. It's not hard to understand.
It's 2019. Modding is a staple of PC gaming. It's why a lot of us choose to game on PCs. Deal with it. If you aren't modding, then the only people who can join your game are on your friend's list. So if your friends are being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... maybe just remove them.
any new ideas?
You listed all but the Peaceful Game mode. What should it be changed to to get Peaceful mode?
as I have already done, I would love to play with a ship of mine. If so how can someone teach? thanks
