Raft

foundation armour
does it make it undamagable by shark...or just reduced damage?

I think it just has a ton more hp so when the shark takes forever to chew it out, you are suppose to spear the shark every time it takes a bite out of your ship so it leaves.

hmmm...so its just not worth it then....1 metal ingot plus 2 scrap plus the spear damage to defend it.
I'd rather it cost more and was impervious so i never had to worry about that single square again.

The idea is that when you get an absolutely massive raft-city, you can armor the borders so that you have time to reach it.

The shark doesnt just attack the borders though, so you'd have to armour everything, which just isnt worth the effort when you can just replace with 2 wood and plastic.

Agree. By the time you have a large raft you would have a glut of resources. Just build a simple foundation. You could perhaps reinforce the floor underneath important items, or alternatively just put them on the floor above.

Yeah i've started putting what i can above, the walls and supports all sit on minimum 2 foundation peices and shark takes 1 at a time so i figured as long as i replace any missing foundations then everythings safe.
Not sure if theres a structural integrity system...so if the foundations are destroyed the wall is destroyed and therefore roof is as well?

I haven't come across this. I guess we need to do an experiment. The game's physics don't appear sophisticated enough for this to be the case.

I am thinking the roof components will support each other even if the foundation is out.

Honestly they are pretty neat tho expensive. The shark only took 15 of it's health but it's more of a end game thing once you don't need to build stuff I guess

He can only attack the edges or atleast in 14hrs that is all he has done to me. If you have a opening in the middle somewhere that would allow him to come up and attack it. Armour border would certainly be cheaper. After you have the metal spear that chases him in 2 hits. Plastic can run out fast as everything uses it and can only get it floating in the ocean.

He can attack inner foundations too not just outer ones.

The shark will attack nonboarders and in my game it became more frequent the larger the raft became.

i think its random but higher chance to attack sides early game because the outside area is more than the inside, its not untill late game it seems to attack inner more.

Maybe we should just build the roof and let the shark take the foundations, just have a hovering roof over the ocean.

The shark can only attack foundations that are adjacent to water. Collection nets count as water, so that's probably where your non-border attacks are coming from.

no they can attack ANY part in the water, i've had them attack the middle square in my cabin

i have the same problem. my sollution is to build a roof like platform. only half a wall high. just supported with columns. so the shark needs to eat 4 foundations to destroy the "roof". on tiop of that i build my house. works pretty good so far but the downside is you cant see if the foundation is there or not XD
