Raft

Loosing everything on death, not cool.
I'm playing "single player". So I don't mind to save exploit once a while to avoid annoyances that might spoil my fun. So I noticed that the game will save no matter what, fine I can tolerate that.

But then I died while deep diving near an island to get sand and other things to advanced tech and the shark got me. The only option was to "surrender and respawn". Fine, but then all my inventory disappeared, and I hate that! I really dislike when the game punishes you like that for dying. When I play a game, I try to stay alive no matter what, and don't need rules enforced to "avoid exploit" like some people need.
And the game don't even give a change to recover the lost stuff, what the hell!

I need to take a break, cause the amount of resources and tools that I lost will probably lead to half of my raft get destroyed by the shark.

NOT COOL! NOT COOL!

Also, at least make the hook unbreakable, and spawn with a new one.

Nope. Time to get good and pick up drifting materials. Welcome to survival.

Welcome to Easy Mode.
Sorry, but you are both jerks. "get good", "survival", "easy mode"?

The usual, give yourself the right to depreciate someone that does not enjoy being punished as you do. My level of masochism is not as high as yours.

Choose Easy Difficulty => No Inventory Loss

TBH, I think what EpicU meant is that in Easy Mode you don't lose your stuff when you die - That's what I'm doing until I work everything out

Or, maybe they don't mean that - I assumed they just explained it poorly

Survival games are SUPPOSED to be hard and easy to lose items. What. You think if you die you can just respawn without any consequences? Ha go play minecraft and turn on Keep Inventory

Wouldn't dying be pointless without a loss of some sort? Wouldn't the game have little meaning?

OP wants to play Raft, in the game there's Creative Mode, Easy Mode, Normal Mode, Hard Mode. Pick and play. Stop harrassing everybody.

Where is the rule is written? Because punishing death in games is really just to appeal to those people that lack self control, and prefer to blame the game for their exploitation and consequent boredom.

Why do you need rules to be enforced upon you to avoid dying in video game, to begin with.

I hate this idea of playing on easy. I always play the default mode. What else does easy mode changes?
Rumthorp May 23, 2018 @ 10:02pm
Your argument is with the term "easy". You are complaining that the game is too hard but you refuse to play the easier mode with a ruleset more fitting to your playstyle.

I like it that death is punishing. It gives you incentive not to do it. It gives a sense of danger. Without that I find survival games hollow. To each there own. Play easy mode.

The point is, some people want a challenge, others want to just play a game. It's not all about you, you know. What do I do when I face a challenge in a game, I look to friends, the internet or Steam.

Exactly. I'm always up to help. 24 hours of experience so far for me so I'm reliable to get you started up

My argument is not with the word "easy", but that does bother me. I also never said anything about been "too hard", just the puniment for dying is stupid. I don't need that to incentivize to avoid death in video games. I don't need to be poked with a stick to keep moving.
I don't have issues with anything else, even tolerate the lack of proper manual save. I fine with the constant harasment of the shark and seagul, I'm fine with the management of food and water, I'm fine with the resource gathering. How much is too much?

Again, let me ask, what elses easy mode changes?

Did I said anytthing about that people should play the way I like? Cause I'm the one being told to change here. Or I play on easy mode, or I should play multiplayer with randoms, that I'm not interested into.

If I have a suggestion about this issue, is just have togleable option, instead to include it on preset of rules, as the difficult modes.

I just create storage containers and toss stuff into them. If i die, the storage items are still there.

easy... play the game on easy and you won´t loose your inventory upon death.

sharks are the only real danger in the game at the moment. so just learn the game by playing on easy mode and you are fine.
when you are more experienced im sure you can handle the normal and hard mode as well
