And they tried to get trademark name, same as they did for Raft o_o
https://www.reddit.com/r/Worldbox/comments/jmplqw/the_fight_for_worldbox_or_how_a_game_you_worked/
"It seems so far these guys have been getting away with it because nobody really cared that they are behaving unethically."
That's the problem. Us entitled gamers don't give a damn about devs. Honesty and integrity will always take second place to getting what we want. Thus there will always be suits to exploit and provide.
Nice find and interesting read!
The other has a Mixed 65%
And is a blatant rip off as it was released to the market almost a year after the... good one.
Survival on Raft is copycat clone of original Raft prototype available free here: https://raft.itch.io/raft
It tries very had to fool people into thinking it's the real Raft and not a copycat (Raft as title on store page and using small font for 'Survive on' part of it's real name on it's logo.). Raft isn't only game the 'developer' has made poor copies of:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Worldbox/comments/jmplqw/the_fight_for_worldbox_or_how_a_game_you_worked/
It's build for mobile platform and the PC port inherits most of the limitations imposed by it's mobile roots (clunky controls, mobile interface and resolution limits). It makes extensive use of store bought assets.
When originally released, it barely had any ideas/features of it's own (the rainwater collector and couple others IIRC). It has since added islands, air supply drops, trader, kayak, achievements, trading cards and some other features.
Oh well.
Regardless, Stranded Deep was here before Raft. Should we now ♥♥♥♥♥ on Raft for being so much like Stranded Deep? In stranded deep you have to create a Raft. Obvious copy paste! Kill all the fraudulent devs!
I guess this is my way of saying: Who cares? It's mobile... If PC is Master Race, and Console is Peasant.. Then where does that leave Mobile? How can Master Race be concerned with this at all? It's not even a speckle in the wind.
That's mostly due to any post about the clones being merged into this topic.
You did not really read the topic did you? Survival on Raft is not merely similar to Raft, as originally it was almost exact clone of original Raft prototype to the point of it's graphics being so similar that they could've been lifted from Raft itself. They tried to trademark Raft in various countries and try hard to fool people into believing their game is Raft and not entirely different game. It also seems that this 'developers' entire business model is based on making poor clones of other developers games while claiming their game is the original and trying to trademark the titles in their name.
I hope the other developer win the court and stop the "fake game developers" of stealing others works.
I was going to explain it to you, but then, you probably do understand don't you? You're just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soulless cretin that only cares for himself. Jog on now.
This looks like the most blatant game rip off i've seen in a long time. This is basically your game shoved into a low quality VR version. Might want your legal team to look into this if you haven't already
So this is like your game just retextured :o
