Leftovers for fuel?
Does anyone know what devs mean by 'leftovers' that will be used to make some fuel in the new update?

In update #39 devs stated that you'll use honey and food to create fuel in biorefiner. Leftovers might be a new resource you get by eating food so you don't actually have to waste food to create fuel. That's my guess anyway.

Biofuel! Gives the hot pot even more usefulness!

So you think they mean the 'leftovers' that are cooked in the hot pot? Well, it would make sense. I wonder if we will get 'recipes' for best 'leftovers'...

I mean as in leftovers food from a meal in real life that you throw away into bio trash after eating. You consume a food item in game and get leftovers in return that you then use as bio fuel creation. There are biofuel and biogas refineries in real life that use waste as part of the process to generate biofuel or biogas.

Ok, I see. I thought you meant 'leftovers' which you get when you put into the hot pot some ingredients which don't match any recipe...

You will need raw food to make fuel. So all the raw food like potatoes, beets, etc will work and plus you will need honey. There won't be an extra item for "leftovers", sorry for the misunderstanding ^^

Thanks for the reply.
What about honey - will it be only possible to find it on some islands or will we be able to have some beehives and produce our own honey?

So wait, why would you need honey to make fuel? You're already using raw food. Is it just to make it more difficult and tedious to do?

Honey is a binding agent. Likely to make the "biofuel" more viscous and useful as a fuel source. And yes, it likely adds the element of difficulty/scarcity to it.
Think of Mad Max; fuel is scarce, a very precious commodity. You'll be less likely to run your engines round the clock if your fuel isn't easy to come by. Thus, it'll make you more selective on when you do use your engines.
