Raft
Is the cookpot actually worth it?
It seems like cooked meals don't even give as much satiation as their component parts. They cost more planks than just grilling, and take longer. They require spending clay on bowls. It's a hassle to build the recipes. Meals only stack to 5; fish stack to 20. Satiation depletes so slowly that the overfill mechanic is pointless. Is there actually a compelling reason to cook meals over just grilling fish?

If you eat a cook-pot meal or two when at full food, it over fills the bar. Handy when setting off to explore large islands.

Like I said, the overfill doesn't do anything since satiation depletes so slowly. I've never had my hunger meter go below half while exploring before my inventory is full and I have to go back anyway.

I find it very useful and convenient. Cooked meal lasts much longer than ordinary food (e.g. grilled fish). One stack (5 bowls) is more than enough for me to explore a big island both on land and under water while keeping the food bar at maximum level all the time.
I wish there was a similar option for drink...
Probably it depends on how many resources you have. I have plenty of planks and nets all around my raft which catch more and more planks so I don't care how many I have to burn to cook a meal. I actually have 2 cookpots ;)

Are you on normal mode? Because then it probably isn't worth it.

Usually I hate easy modes in games, but the food / thirst depletion in this game is silly, even on easy..

However the cooking pot is def worth it. Lets you make legit food & compress lesser ingredients into useful ones. If you don't have a surplus of stuff like clay.. wood then maybe don't use it till you do.

I have two of them so I can cook stacks of vegetable soup faster :F

I think the cooking pot is pretty useful. Even going for vegetable soup is worth and maxim out the bar (into the yellow as well) gives one tons of time. Especially useful when i build things. Its a pretty nice way to "upgrade" one's food.
