Other reason and shorter answer: movie logic
I'm no expert... but i know why.
Basically the tour starts going generally west to east, with 2 loop points for the vehicles to turn around on the track. At some point shortly after the Trike scene, they have to cancel the tour due to the weather and rather than the tour continuing south towards the other herbivors (the scene with the bracs and paras, with gallis further south) the tour vehicles do a turn around at the centre loop point and then starts backtracking the way it came... then you get the famous... Rex scene.
I hope this was helpful as i am aware its not shown or explained in the film.
Indeed, you can improvise a slightly inaccurate walk around to compensate for the fact you cant change direction, backtrack or crossover the track. In the film, its not a single loop like in the game. In the film its basically a giant wonky 8 shape with a couple of turn around points, the west to east entry and exit track through the main gates to or from the VC and the ability to back track.
This is my biggest gripe with this dlc, the inability to create a film or lore accurate track... but this is a... personnel problem lol
so basically if there wasn't a storm and they didn't turn back.
Yeah this is where parks will differ and us fanbois may have a problem lol... mine goes past Rexys paddock the breakout way... and the nearby Dilo pen is next to a turn around point and tunnel... throw in a small map to work with... and you are going to have all types of problems lol, i had to temporary compensate by technically putting the dilo pen on the wrong side of the track. I am relocating both paddocks atm to finalise my park and then i am officially completely done with my film park. The texture painting, false mountain creation and individual tree planting has taken a lot longer than expected... i have OCD lol
Then i am doing the LW, then JP3... i have to do both seperately due to the dino skins not matching... but i may just do JP3 and compensate the differences with fan lore as it will be much easier... the only problem with this is once again map space.
The problem is the only info is from misleading tour power maps in the films computers (2 different maps) and what you see. The rest is from official maps of the completed park (the park was never finished)... and as pointed out by other users, the rest of the gaps were filled in (cue mr dna) by the fans... and some of that work was even made cannon "incorrectly"...
Like i said... i have OCD lol
At the end of the day... every park is now going to be different.
