what to sell in shops/restaurants etc.
Hello
I have a question, what should I sell in shops, restaurants and so on? Everywhere the most expensive stuff? Or should I variate, one time cheap, one time expensive? What gives the highest score?
Anybody knows that?
regards memoric

Why don't you test it? When there's more demand take a more expensive option and increase the people it can hold. Just find a good balance yourself.

The rating is provided by the acessibility of foods/drinks/etc. The management view (the "eye" on the left bar) gives you a perspective on these needs, amongst others. Usually the hotels and viewing stations are the main places in need, and you should plan your buildings to stay close (viewing buildings, amenities, hotels and, later ingame, monorail station). A low rating most likely suggests one or more hotel/viewing station is too far from a building OR such building is at max capacity (which you can increase using the building menu) and can't service the guests.

I don't think what you sell really matters. As long as facility location and price is right, you will get profit. Ideally, you need to place stores and restaurants close to hotel and viewing buildings, on paths between them - visitors are not going to walk toward power station or dead end for a shop and food. Viewing buildings are prime destinations and they generate most human traffic

It actually does. If you have great demand and people buy like crazy and your building is maxed out by visitors even when you max out the capacity the percentage of happiness will decrease for that region. If you have great demand like 600+ always take the most expensive solution and sell it as high as you without reaching the limit of your building. Maximum proft and maximum happiness for that region.

Sorry if this is hard to understand but English is not my first language.

I understand you very well. What I was doing is placing three buldings of the same type around the map and selling different products there. I did not notice difference in profitability ratings. Numbers are obviously different due to different cost/price, but profit margin seem to be very similar. I could reach maximum capacity in any building, but depending on location and not the product.

Frankly, I don't think this game is designed for players who want to manage stores and food facilities. They are simplified, because this game is about managing and caring about dinosaurs

Well I had that problem once where I had set the cheapest option in a restaurant at the maximum price and it still was full at 1200 people. When putting the most expensive option and then the most expensive price it was at around 950-1100 people. So the region was happy and before that I simply didn't have enough food and water in the area. But you are right. It is simplified since it is about dinos. When you have hotels the demand of food and all that stuff is rising so you either have to build more stuff or hope to have the most expensive option fill the needs.

Shops are an awful, incomplete and plain broke. feature of the game. You don’t need them for anything as you gain endless flow of money.

Their only of use when you want to complete 5 star ratings and then you can practically give all stuff away for free to ramp up rstings.
