putting them together with dinos that needs to be on a big pack (tsintaosaurs, edmontosaurs, etc) is a bad idea
and i dont think enclosure size matters for population.
i had kentrosaurs in a big one (4tsh island west side) they still get upset over overpoulation
You'll also notice that the big sauropods can't go in a small enclosure, as their level will always be low on forest or grassland or both. The sliders aren't just balance, it's volume too.
Best bet for them is just ensure a nice pen so you can max both grassland and forest. No more than two and try not to add other dinos. For space efficiency and their low pop desire, can combine with other low social need herbivores.
That bug, I think I have seen that with (memory short, the frilled carno) where my pen was fine when I had set it up, but suddenly the forest need bottomed out so I had to mass forest. Not sure if related, but never know if say some negative modifer glitches in
I havent gotten into late stage dinos, but figure anklyo should work well with tall herbivores. Large space requirements and assuming smaller herd sizes should compliment well. That way not wasting space on devoted anklyo pens.
