I think the devs where using older reconstructions which had shorter and taller skulls to further differentiate it from Velociraptor which uses the modern look for its head design.
In my aopinion 2 options/solutions here:
>Exchange this 2 dinos names.
>Accep it as and interesting thing from the film series and the book. John Ostrom was the deinonychus discoverer and Michael Crichton use his work tho create the character but change the name.
It's not really possible for Velociraptor to change what it tooks like in the franchise, and I don't think they would do a name change eaither, otherwise it would have been done years ago.
Deinonychus has a better chance for a change to apearence in this game, though it will proabbly continue to sport scales.
Deinonychus resembles Elvis Presley.
I prefer Cryolophosaurus as the Elvis of Dinosaurs.
I honestly didn't think I'd like them at all but with the small sail of skin going from their head down their back and over their tail I think they look more stylish.
how do you know how the real Deinonychus looked like? have u travelled back in time and saw one?
You are late on that one. ^^
Its not revealed what the Velociraptor actually is. All the book says is tht Grant, the actual expert, disagrees wiith Wus classification. The whole Deinonychus bull is made up by the artists behind the movie because that is what they did. Its not cannon, its not even movie cannon.
Well even so, that still makes my 'look at it as a misidentified raptor' way of thinking more relevant ^^
