Why do my guests not use my giftshop?

It's next to the mainstreet and theres tons of people and all other shops have max guests but my giftshop has none :/ how come?

They tend to use shops near the enclosure lookouts.

look at the management view. the game clearly tells you where they want stuff (click the eyeball on the menu on the left)

I did encounter a bug regarding attaching buildings directly to a pre-existing road, where no-one would visit it. I can't say if island hopping would fix it as I was on the first island at the time.

Wait what? Could you elaborate? On the info thing it only tells me the general food and fun statisfaction with transport etc. Where do you see where they want things?

buildings in red, orange high demand and they want that near them
buildings in yellow and blue have low demand

This shows up when you click the eyeball (management view) from the menu on the left side of the screen. then click on food, drink, shopping, fun , etc
