perfect group of dinosaurs with high population
iam looking for dinosaurs with the highest population stat so that i can bunch them up together and get a high variety rating and hold a large number of dinosaurs.
i noticed two who had high poulation (will add the names when i get ingame) but two is not enough yet i need to find other dinosaurs who go well in large mixed groups.
most of them seem to be anti social and freak out in large population...

anyone has sugestions ?
how do you build your herbivore areas ?

EDIT does any carnivore accept other dino to live with them ?

In a somewhat small area, 2 Struthiomimus, 2 Gallimimus, 2 Triceratops, 4 Tsntaosaurus, 4 Parasaurolophus. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197997329716/screenshot/931564346194050157

Struthio and Galli are my go to herbivores for adding variety in, they can placed singly and have high population, Parasaur and Tsintao requires a group of 4 for social, those two also have a higher population than average.

Triceratops are limiting it to that many dinosaurs total, might remove them and put other dinos in there that are a bit more forgiving.
1 struthiominus
5 maiasaura
2 corythosaurus
1 edmontosaurus
4 parasaurolophus
1 huayangosaurus
1 galliminus

i ended up with this , and still have plenty of room for population , will add new ones of each of these and see how many i can get!

Cool, I'll have to try mixing in those, haven't messed with Maiasaura at all yet.
yea that setup gets me alot of money its a good start.
now iam wondering if any carnivores would be able to live in mixed groups like this.
any expert knows?

for me the best is:
2 brachiosaurus
2 mamenchisaurus
1 diplo
2 struthiominus
2 galliminus
2 archaeornithomimus
5 parasaurolophus
5 maiasaura

you will need a big area, although it will be worth

There is a spreadsheet of stats in the Guides section - Just sort that by Max Population and you get this...

This valley runs all the way across the 'top' of Isla Nublar

This is what it has in it

I mostly pack the dinos of the same family together.
Ceratopsidae with ceratopsidae for example.

It doesn't work that well, as for example I had to put the Pentaceratops with the Sauropelta into one enclosure.
Simply as the Sauropleta freaks out if it gets put into the same enclosure as all other ankylosauridae, as it has too low population conformance for that.

Similar as Pentaceratops. He rather prefers lower pop and together with all other ceratopsidae he'll freak out.

I've also have an own enclosure for Corythosaurus und Gigantspinosaurus.
As the Corytho and all her socially necessary friends will freak out the Muttaburasaurus when all Hadrosaurids are put together in one enclosure.
So I seperated the Corytho and put it together with the Gigantspinosaurus.
The enclosure with the Stegosauria was overloaded and Stegosaurus herself freaked out about.
So I seperated the Gigantspinosaurus to decrease population.

Luckily they are all happy now. :steamhappy:

i wanted some kills infamy for my T-rex against Stegosaurus but somehow they were friends. no1 was scared or fight and all ground of Stegusaurus was friendly ^.^
some habits changed, is never the same when you have 30+ dinos :p
wow you just bumped my old post , thats some pretty good info i would have enjoyed back then , tried things and sold alot of dinos and ended up with that setup i previously posted , worked well , wonder how much the game changed now after a couple updates , might try it again.
