Compatible Carnivores?
Are there Carnivores that can be housed with different species of carnivore without going ballistic?

Or smaller Carnivores and larger herbivores that can coexist?

Most Carnivores have a comfortable population that is much higher than their comfortable social group. I was wondering how to take advantage of it.

I'm kind of amused with the fact that playing this game feels like I'm stocking my aquariums lol. With species compatibility and all and even enclosure size and layout being a factor. XD

The big carnivores can be housed with small ones without any real problems. They just run away from the big guys. Just make sure that you put multiple food and water sources in the pen so that the small ones don't starve/dehydrate because the big one is hanging out around the only feeder.

I've tried almost every combination of large carnivores that I have available so far(T-Rex, Ceratasaurus, Giganotosaurus, Metriawhatsitcalled, Baryonx) with small ones (Velociraptor, Deinonychus, Dilophosaurus). All of them worked fine. Just don't pair up multiple species of carnivores of the same size. That never ends well.

Any medium or large carnivore I've tried so far (metriacanthosaurus and larger) can mix with any of the three small pack carnivores (Deinonychus, Dilophosaurus, Velociraptor). I haven't tried every possible combo yet, but it seems to be fairly consistant across species based on size. You can technically have 2 or more Ceratosaurus with a pack of small carnivores but it's best not to unless the enclosure is very large since this can lead to the small dinos being paniced so much of the time that they don't eat or drink.
This does not work however with the Indoraptor because despite being only a bit bigger than a velociraptor, and being mostly raptor, it is certifiably insane and will attack pretty much anything with the possible exception of brachiosaurus.

i have noticed that if you keep a large pack of Deinonychus with a single T Rex, they leave each other alone. Once one Deino goes into panic mode, it runs off and the T Rex gets distracted by one of the other Deino's. I have 8 Deino's with a T Rex and it is a very large enclosure with just the right amount of grassland and forest and 2 seperate watering holes on Isla Pena and they are fine together.

Any large carnivore with small carnivore, doesn't matter which one.

I've had ceratosauruses living with dilophosauruses before with no problem. You just have to find the right ones. Occassionally they'll get into fighting position but they always break it up before anyone does anything. Not sure why they do that, but I've yet to have any problems.

I will say this though: Be careful when tranqing the smaller dinosaurs around the larger ones. I did this once when I had some velociraptors living in the same space as a ceratosaurus (they were living together with no issues as well) and the ceratosaurus killed it while it was tranq'd.

What it boils down to is "Will the carnivore try to eat them, and will the prey be able to get away." The answer is semi-complex, but I can summarize it into this. The large carnivores won't try to hunt the giant herbivores, mostly cause they are must bigger. Regardless of how realistic it is, its how the game is setup. The small carnivores won't try to eat armored herbivores, because the armored herbivores will kill them. The large carnivores try to fight and kill the small carnivores, but the small carnivores just run the ♥♥♥♥ away. That is why the T-Rex and Certrasaurus (the starting carnivore, how ever it is spellled) can co-exist with raptors and terrow claws. They will try to start a fight, but the small one just runs away. Also because there is no pack fighting (at least not yet) you don't need to worry about your T-rex being overwhelmed. All fights seem to be 1 v 1.

Now if you put a armored herbivore and a large carnivore together, ♥♥♥♥ goes down. The carnivore wants to fight everything its size category, and the armored herbivore doesn't back down, and is made to fight. So you can't have them together.

So basically, if you wanna mix the herbivores and carnivores together, you have to use some logic. The carnivores won't hunt anything bigger then it (mostly) so you can mix small carnivores, armored herbivores, and giant herbivores together in the same pin and everything will be fine. But if you want to have small and large herbivores, you will need them in their own pin, cause ven raptors will hunt down large herbivores. Only the Armored ones make the small carnivores flee.

Don't put anything with I-rex or I do Raptor though.

Here's a breakdown of compatible dinos I've found though experimenting:

Small carnivores + Medium/large carnivore = Yes
Medium + Large carnivore = No
I.Rex + Small carnivores = Yes
Carnivore + Herbovire any size = Killing spree
I.Raptor + Anything = Killing spree

Your small carnivores will always mock-clallenge your larger carnivores and your Dilos will even spit at them, but they'll never actually fight/do damage, the small ones always back down with the exception of Indoraptor. It will slaughter anything you put in an enclosure with it regardless of size (even I.Rex)

Any Large Carnivore with any small carnivore.

Any large herbivore and small carnivore.

Any giant herbivore and large carnivore (saving I-rex and Indoraptor).

Any giant herbivore and small carnivore.

what i've noticed with testing i've done so far, raptors can hang with herbivores that arn't to small or unarmored. for example they will eat edmontosaurs, but seem to ignore armord dinos like anklyosaur, and ignor stegosaurids like stegosaurus and kentosaurus. same goes for dilos all though im not sure what they would do to parasaurs, and im assuming deinonychus has similar rules to viloceraptor. beyond that most larger carnovours will attack anything thats not a sauropod.

Basically all big carnivores can live together with small carnivores, sometimes they will roar at each other but they never get into fights.
any large carnivore can live with a small carnivore. Raptors also will not attack anky and most carnivores wont attack any large herbivores that are "long necks"

As far as I know,
I-Rex can only stay with any small carnivores
I-Raptor can only stay with any large herbivores
because I-Rex will murder anything larger than her, and I-Raptor will murder anything close or smaller to her size
