yes game is dead in 2 months
i agree
The sandbox mode is pointless and basically needs you to have completed all the islands to unlock everything.
What content does exist is put into the game in such a way as to take as long as possible to get unlocked; door after door after door to unlock X item. Send out excavations for fossils, which takes time and you can only send a limited number at a time. Extract dna from fossils, which takes time, and you can only extract a limited number at a time. Same with research, same with hatching of dinosaurs. There is probably about 60 minutes worth of actual content that has simply been stretched as far as possible by time gating. It's core functions are okay, but it certainly isn't worth the price tag.
Decoration of the park consists of trees, grass, water, and basic height elevation.
Dino ai is very lacking; carnivores just kill everything that isn't their species, herding is none existent, social functions involve going to an area and making calls. Nothing sleeps.
Park visitors are irrelevant, so much so that they move out of the way like schools of fish when you drive through them.
Zoo Tycoon with Dino digs expansion is a better dinosaur park game and it is 16 years old.
Pros:
1. Pretty graphics.
2. Great animations.
3. Strong Jurassic World Tie-Ins.
4. Strong Voice Acting.
5. Dinosaurs!
Cons:
1. Game-play is mostly queuing up actions and waiting for them to finish.
2. Many actions are in menus within menus.
3. Very little guest interaction.
4. Dinos habitats are very basic to manage.
5. Game-Play is very easy and mostly about clicking prompts / doing specific tasks assigned as missions.
In the end it's a very pretty game with great voice acting, an amazing theme, and the complexity of a mobile game.
15 years gone by since the last jurassic park builder and there is no evolution in the gameplay. they even are regressing by almost fully leaving out the guests in the park, they are nothing but robots without feelings or interests...
RIP frontier, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. i hope you go broke when all the players who actually see the bad gameplaychoices will do a refund...
Universal was heavily involved in the game development. Frontier had to follow a very strict design set forth by Universal. Universal deserve's the real credit for design choices of Jurassic park evolution.
I own the game, Iv played it extensively, iv had fun, im about to play some more right now. That being said, Id recommend anyone interested in the game to wait, see what comes. If its fully supported and we get patches and Free LC for things like decorations, guest pleasing, more security and guest amenities, lethal options for ACU, destructable ranger jeeps, ectect. Then yes. But really, id say wait 6 months to a year. Its either going to be a fantastic game, or just another tie in licensed game thats in the dustbin.
- It's no real free build,
- the maps are very small
- the content is also not that much, so i think it will die soon because of the nothing ness that
comes after you have seen all.
- The developers said you can come back to e.g. the starter Island, but for what reason should I?
- They even have no fast forward function because the game would be over in less than 2 hours :/
- It is for a management game simple, very simple, it nearly does not deserve this title.
and it's mutch to expensive what it delivers.
And finally that amount of content? I mean yes the dinos are nice but it's always the same...
Build a cage --> breed a dino --> release him --> he dies after a while
Something diffrent would be nice like flying dinos or an entire underwater world.
But maybe you will deliver that content in a DLC for 30€? per Pack?
It could have been a good game, but it is definitly overpriced and a bit too empty for that amount of money!!!
-->So my recommendation would be don't buy it now, maybe for 10€ in a sale then it might be worth it. The graphics are very nice and no bugs or anything.
R.I.P old Zoo Tycoons and Roller Coaster's
the other more important problem, is I'm skeptical of future content that will improve what would help most. of course a lot of things could be added, but just a few small additions to AI and stuff would make it worlds better.
Added dinos here & there wouldn't do much, even marine + flyers would just be a few unique things relating to those types, that is what I feel is most likely for DLC and really wouldn't be looking forward to much.
