Game is causing overheating
I am not sure why, but the game is causing my PC to overheat.
I have liquid cooling for my CPU, so I don't believe its that. I suspect it's causing my Graphics card to work overtime (Nvid 1060).

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

What temperature is your GPU running at?

I'm not sure, but the fan on the top and the back of my case pump out alot of hot air if I play the game for more than a few hours.

How do you know it is overheating then?

Becuase it turns itself off, and when it does I feel the back and top of it to see if it was because of the heat.

So you literally take your hand and feel your PC and know it is overheating? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Yeah, it may be hot but I think it's not as hot as you think it is. Get yourself some programs where you can actually see the temps in real time like Core Temp and MSI Afterburner. I use those programs all the time and this game doesn't put as much load on my machine unlike other games.

I could be mistaken but that could also be a problem with your PSU. Without temperature meters (like for instance MSI Afterburner) you can never know though.

OP: No game "causes overheating" .. it may use a lot of GPU and CPU power.. but ANY overheating is YOUR fault for not cooling your PC properly and cleaning the dust, etc out ... (or lack of cooling software)

* Clean the dust out of the GPU
* Clean the dust out of the CPU cooling sytem
* Make sure the system and GPU and CPU fans are ALL controlled by software programs to speed the fans up as heat increases

Windows will not control your fans.. you need things like Alienware command center for Alienware systems, or whomever makes your computer... and you need GPU cooling software... I use EVGA Precision OSX because EVGA makes my GTX 1080Ti cards

And it's a huge problem if you don't know the temps of your GPU, CPU and the system ambient air. You should be monitoring all of that and properly cooling it all

Gotta' be one of the least helpful responses I have ever seen. Ignoring that pedantic nonsense.

I've been having the same issue and it's never really gone away. My computer was brand new when this game came out and the pattern has always been the same: When enough 'people' are in the park (the little sprites walking around) it seems to make my computer work exponentially harder. I go from 0-3 star park like my computer isn't even running to 3.5 and sudden I'm hitting over 100C warnings. Lowering the graphics settings doesn't seem to have any affect on this. If I'm on ultra or lowest, once my game hits a certain threshhold, it immediately runs up to 100C upon loading the save.

So if anyone has some helpful suggestions, I'd appreciate it. VSync is on, graphics card is up to date, dust is not the problem.

If your temps go up to 100degrees its a cooling issue, not a game issue.

software doesn't affect temps. It's not the game. When you can admit that, then ill see someone who will actually listen to advice to fix the problem. Otherwise you are someone id waste my time helping.

Software does indeed affect temps since running a demanding application which puts your hardware under load makes it hotter.

You don't seem to have an idea how cooling works or how fans in general work. You don't need software to cool down your pc. If you want to set your fans to some custom setting thats fine but it's not needed.

Full load is full load no matter the software. Temps will be the same. Ssoftware does not affect them. They affecff loads.
ThruuLottleDats May 30, 2019 @ 10:00am
A GPU under full load with decent cooling will never exceed 90degrees celcius. A GPU under full load with good cooling will never exceed 60degrees celcius and then there are those with watercooled pc's that never have their temperatures exceed 40degrees celcius.

Any pc or console clogged up with dust or no sufficient cooling will reach higher temperatures. I clean my ps4 every 6 months just in case with canned air.

How does software not affect it when software is putting it under load. You make no sense.

Because under the same load, your hardware gets the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ temps. How is it hard? At 100% all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ software in all of existence willl bring your hardware to the same temp to the fraction of a degree. Same with 90%. 70% and every possible load.

Temps have nothing to do with software.
