Is this a challenging game ?
I'm a kind of "hardcore" gamer who loves to be challenged, as I'm getting bored real quick.
So far, what i've heard is that everything looks streamlined, cash flowing too easily, guests being nothing more than placeholders, dino just having "needs" which need to be checked.
Is it possible to fail in this game ? What are the challenges ?
Is it possible to fail so hard like a true disaster scenario happen ?
Dino slaughtering everyone ? Something similar happening like in the movies ?
Any random events happening during your playtime ?

So, can you share which difficulties you have faced, no matter what those are.

Thanks !

The first island - Isla Matenceros - is quite easy. Isla Muerta is super hard. And I heard that Isla Tacano is almost impossible. Isla Nublar is a sandbox island so its very easy. Don;t know about the other two islands however.

From my experience so far.. i'm not finding much in the ways of general challenge..
I'm currently on the 3rd island and have managed to get 5 stars on the first 2 islands although they dropped back down to 4+ shortly after.

Maintaining 5 star parks is something i've not yet managed and there are some annoying problems that continue to pop up and sometimes screw up your missions.
Do this.. breed that.. stress it out.. calm it down.. great now make sure it survives for the next 5 mins.. OPSIE!! someone sabotaged all your gates and now your T-Rex is in the same pen lol oh well guess you gotta start over.. (Son of a !!!) lol

General park management I find to be very easy though.. often slow starting.. building up your early park and populating it can take some time as can maxing out DNA genomes and researching everything.. but once I've passed that early point my parks start printing money faster than I can spend it..

All 3 of my islands have over 100 million in bank just sitting there lol
Easy to make money in this game.

Depends what you want from your challenge. If you want your 'challenge' to be dealing with dinosaurs that are able to break through any fence no matter how big, then this is your game.

If you want your challenge to come from maintaining finances and the park then this definitely isn't your game.

If you are familiar with the park management genre then this game is quite easy. Finances with 3rd park is at first a (slight) challenge, but it is quite easy to turn it around and make a profit.

I suppose the real challenge is to manage all the different types of dinos; which ones can be together in a pen and which don't. Dealing with escaped dinos before they eat too many guests. Matching dinos which share preferences for similar enviroments is also a thing you want to do due to limited map size.

I wouldn't call this game hardcore in the least, so if you are more into those kinds of experiences then leave this game be.

I think it's too easy to be honest, but it might depend on your gaming history. I played a lot of JPOG and that game was much more challenging than this. Here, once you get over the little hump it takes to get a park going, it seems to be almost impossible to lose.

Thank you guys, your answers are very valuable so far.

I could deal with the focus on the dinos, as long as the gameplay is interesting & challenging.
In the sense that I would like to feel, kind of, the pressure on the staff shown in the movies, for example. Like 1 little mistake, something unexpected, and then all hell can break loose pretty fast.
Similarly to a game like Frostpunk, for example.
Decisions matter & have a "real" impact on the simulation.

I'm just a bit worried to get bored (too fast) even with the dinos, if the gameplay loop feel too robotic & not organic enough in their approaches.

No worries man.

I love Frostpunk and I found that game to be much harder than this one mate. I know what you mean, I like those kind of challeges as well. This is not that kind of game, it's very forgiving.

After 30hours , Isla Pena is the hardest of islands .... but is not impossible , You just have to farm on the other islands and mainly on Sorna to have the necessary for Pela.

But the game has difficult moments and especially in his missions.

But , JWE na never was to be Hard, the developers not stop to say it.

The First Island: You have almost NO worries its super easy and its almost just an introduction into the game. Get 3 stars and you can move to the next island get 4 and you unlock Isla Nublar which is a sandbox for what you have unlocked on the other islands.

The Second Island: Isla Muerta is a bit harder you don't have ALOT of room but you do have some. There are Tropical Storms that can damage or destory buildings and fences also they can cause your dinos to enrage and break out of their pens.

The Third Island: This is where it gets tricky you start off with 0 money to your name and have to sell prebuilt structures just to get a dino pen to make money back. There are no Storms I have seen so thats a plus but its starting literally with nothing and building it up.

The Fourth Island: Dear god the pain. This island is super small you have to get 3 stars to move to the next island with what ammounts to around 3 small pens. It took me like 3 times restarting to figure out what to do.

The Fifth Island: Isla Sorna Site B. This one is by far super Fun its not difficult per say but you have so much room you can do whatever you want By this time you can unlock alot of the super tier dinos INCLUDING the Indom. You still have stuff you have to do to unlock and it does take money so its not like Nublar and isn't a true sandbox but my god was this island fun.

Also micromanaging the contracts to complete them all and get everything is a bit of a pain but that is what makes it fun

Yes, thank you. I think I have a clearer picture of the gameplay.
I'm a bit torned as I love the universe, and on the other hand, this feels like it can potentially become a wallpaper tomorrow.
Too bad that it is not moddable, I'm pretty sure gamers would be able to tweak this game in the direction that I desire (and that a lot of people would desire too, I guess).

Imagine, a mix between this & Frostpunk ? Now, we talking ♥♥♥♥ ! :)

to answer OP question, NO this game is not hard in any way shape or form, the only time the game is hard is if you get stuffed over by two events at the same time, but even then it's easy to bounce back. like sabtage open all gates and a tornado at the same time. and no none off the islands are hard, isla pena is the "hardest" but it's in no way HARD. It was acutally the quickest island I 5 stared and had stay at 5 stars. you just put all your hotels up in the mid section off the island then build 3-4 pens down the south side, put a high mod rex, 2 med size high rank carni together, then a pen full off diff herbs and bam 5 star easy. you can even make it quicker if you keep feeding your rex dino's to up his battle rating.

its an extremely casual/entry level type of game. If hardcore management is your thing, completely forget about this game.
