Can I start with Return to Jurassic Park?

I just picked up the game and all the DLC. The original Jurassic Park DLC seems like it would be the most fun for me. However, I'm guessing there are tutorials and things in the main game that I'd need to know in order to play. I did play the game for an hour or two back when it first came out but I remember nothing. Also, if I start a game using the main campaign, do I need to complete the entire thing before I can do Return to Jurassic Park, or can I swap between the two?

Yes you can. You can start with any gameplay you want.

I would recommend to first play the main campaign for a bit if you don't remember the gamemechanics. That way you'll learn the basics, although Return to Jurassic Park does have a sort of tutorial based on the era only buildings. But as AbelWolf076 mentioned, it's not required.

So look the best way to do it is this way.
1.buy all dLC
2.Start with jurassic park
3.do isle meurta and matanceros
4.start doctor wu DLC ONLY DO MEARTA EAST
5.do tacano in main campagin
6.THEN DO DR WU TACANO east
7.do the rest of main campagin
THEN do claire DLC
this order was fun for me so maybe it will for you?

On #4 I always start WUs then go to tacano and get a research lab up there then back to finish off M-East. To unlock something I wanted on M-East. Don't remember exactly what it was though right now ;)

Also, personally, I did clairs right after RTJP so I would have the feeders and aviary for the campaign.

Pretty sure it was to unlock t-rexes..
