is a random island generator in the game?

So I'll keep it quick and simple, a buddy of mine told me that random island generation was added in a dlc, I haven't done any of the island challenges or anything so idk if its locked behind something. I just wanted to know before I went and tried to unlock it if its real, or if he was playing a different game.

hes playing jpog. there is only set islands and some maps can take place on other parts of the island.
