Pretty sure its an intentional design choice. With pause you wouldnt have any pressure with storms or dino needs/escapes. Just pause and fix the needs/fences then unpause. Where now its more of a scramble to get it done quick when it happens :)
PS Keep an eye on your playtime if you are thinking about refunding it, 2 hour max playtime.
you don't need a pause button to it, act fast and tranquilize them, make their enclosure better for their needs.
all you need to know is the game is like a puzzle of things to do, and all dinos are just babies \ kids feeling.
hope my tips can help:

as I said in your other discussion:
"check Dilophosaurus social, grassland, comfort, population, forest needs (include food and water), If one of the scales are in Red side of the parameter he will always attack your fences.
you can tranquilize all of them, fix their enclosure and transport them back in."
And thats exactly what i absolutely hate in strategy and Building games. Stress and hectic! I never played any version of settlers cause of this and frankly speaking i did not expect this defect in a game like this. I mean what is the problem? If someone loves stress and hectic he can avoid pause button. I would use it very often in order to enjoy the game.
But i cant build or plan things. Esc is like ending the game ... temporarily ;)
true. i like to pause and build. in all other games from frontier it work i guess
GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THEN?
YES ... NOW they fell ill and my rangers cant heal cause no road to main entrance. Dont know what the f***** main entrance has to do with it. Anyway.
With a pause button i could have prevented this from happening. And to make it clear:
IT IS NO FUN PLAYING LIKE THAT. I HATE HECTIC IN STRATEGY GAMES!! I REALLY HATE IT!
I want to pause, look again and think about maybe while drinking a cup of coffee AND finding the best solution.
