Does this game need SSD or is HDD fine?
I'm curious about how the game loads, is there lots of loading, or does the game just load on start then you play? I rather just take a little longer on first load, even if that means taking a min or more. I just like most of my stuff on my HDD for ease of use on reinstall and such. But when a game loads a ton i put them on my SSD. Thoughts?

Im with HDD for it and works great, include good cpu and graphics card :)
but this game not have high space requirement, I have all Dlcs and the game takes 7.35 GB.

is even less from the store that mini 8GB and Recommended 12GB Storage.. cool ^^
maybe we will get more dlcs? who knows ;P

Hope I helped.

No game should 'need' an SSD providing everything else on your PC is fairly decent. SSD is a poor excuse for bad optimization. I think the next generation will end up needing it the more 'open' games are becoming. Anything that is fairly linear (like this game) should never need SSD as it isn't constantly needing to read from the drive.

Some newer games, like battletech really needs an SSD. It has lots of load screens, and they take a bit of time on an old HDD, part of it is optimization, but a bigger part is the amount of things that need to be loaded, it is a very complex game. I also run a few others like witcher III, mass effect andromeda and DA:Inquistion on my SSD, basically everything else i own is on my HDD. But this game is newer and has fairly high specs so i wasn't sure how it all loaded/worked.

Most games don't need it, but some in the ways they work/load do, and honestly going into the future there will be more games that really having one is the way to go. At anyrate, i just loaded it to my HDD, i can always move it if feel it is needed.

Your right about next gen games though, but i think a larger part of that is they will be optimized for SSD's as the new consoles are going that route so engines might work a bit different in the future.

ok, so i figured out an SSD is actually good for this game if you like to switch islands during the campaign. that way you can actually use your other islands for research, or change them as you go. Seeing DNA % and research carry over, you can use your old islands to do things to help you on your new..

So, while it runs great on an HDD, if you like to swap islands toss it on the SSD.
