They wanted to set certain challenges based around the map and designed them to fit that purpose. Then thought 'oh let's give people sandbox so they can do what they want, but only on the tiny maps, let's not given them lots of room.'
I find Nublar to be the best option for sandbox, you can get quite a lot of dino species on it if you mix them up. But yeah, when you're in sandbox they are simply too restricted. A island creator would have been great.
I only bought the game recently for a whopping total of £15 (all DLC included). So I am happy with what I got, I'd have been real bumped had I paid full price, certainly not worth it IMO. I'm working on getting the last two achievements (ingen database and the 18 species on a tour thing). After that I will probably put the game to bed.

The sandbox is kind of cool, I made a nice set up on Nublar, but without a decent option to make the park of my dreams, I just don't know what to do at this point.
Sorry, turned into a bit of a rant.
I paid $12 for this and I'll still be mad if I don't get a refund.
Do you have an article referencing what you mean? Did universal box them in a creative corner or something?
I mean, I kind of figured this, but I was wondering if there was an article that pointed to anything more concrete from Universal. I love Planet Coaster so imagine my disappointment with this game...
