Can I run this game?
Every website I've been to in order to check my system against this game's system requirements says I won't be able to run it because of the GPU being one generation too old. Everything else checks out fine.

Is GPU for this game really that important? I can tell from the developer build of the game that it will be very GPU heavy, but there will be options to lower the graphical settings just like in Planet Coaster... right?

OS: Windows 7 (SP1+)/8.1/10 64bit

Processor: Intel i5-2300/AMD FX-4300

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: nVidia GTX 650 (2GB) /AMD Radeon 7850 (2GB)

DirectX: Version 11

Storage: 8 GB available space

If your hardware is lesser than the given above, there's high chances that you will be unable to play JWE or have severe issues while playing JWE.

It is also worth noting that our internal builds of JWE are extremely GPU intense - currently. This may change closer to release when optimizations occur.

By one generation what do you mean?

I could run FFXV (on low) with a 650TI so i'd imagine you should be okay.

Edit: Also, PC is like 2 tech generations ahead of console so there's that too lol.

I'm currently running a GTX 650, and it's recommended I upgrade to a 650TI. At best, I'm currently at 75% the graphical requirements for this game. Not horrible, and definately not bad. That's why I'm just wondering how big a deal GPU actually is for this game.

Steam does allow refunds if you cannot get it working if you are really worried, but I don't think it's too big of a deal. The minimum requirements on the store page are - nVidia GTX 650 (2GB) /AMD Radeon 7850 (2GB)

On PC, there's pretty much always options to lower graphics and even if there aren't any in game, you can always control graphics from outside the game by way of Nvidia Control Panel or some other software.

You can downgrade it to basically run on a potato.

your gpu is probably going to start showing it's age with this game. You are within minimum requirements according to the steam page, but that doesn't mean you'll have the best experience. You'll likely have okish performance until you have a very large park. As the guy above said you can more or less downgrade the game one way or another to get performance, but there's the chance of causing stability issues and other glitches depending on how the game is coded. What I'd recommend doing is waiting for benchmark results on low end systems before buying it, then deciding what you want to do from there.

Oh, I know this custom build is old. I built this rig about 5 years ago with a nice tax refund. Plus, if all I need to do is upgrade the GPU later on, that's a whole lot cheaper than building a new computer from scratch like I did before.

Thanks for all the help, everyone!

Well, I usually tend to get a new pc after more or less 4-5 years. So you seem to be on that "get a new pc" age with your pc.

I'm rubbish at understanding my system vs system requirements.

I just meet the minimum spec with the following:

FX4300
8GB RAM
GTX 750TI

My PC is not the best. I am wondering if having only the minimum processor would be a problem and restrict my quality settings? I can't imagine the game is that heavy in terms of processing power needs. As for graphics the game looks incredible but the dev builds are surely running the higherst settings to show off the game. How will my GPU handle the game? Any chance of me getting high-medium/high settings working?

I can play GTA V and FarCry 5 pretty well on decent enough settings.

Anyone want to reassure me / scare me?

Cpu shouldnt affect graphics.

It could however affect how large scale you can build before it buckles under the weight of it

Even if the only thing I have to upgrade is the GPU? I mean, my CPU is well over the minimum (and recommended) requirements for the game. And then there's the fact I'm running 16GB of RAM because I found a great deal when I was building the PC...

Well, considering I'm using an i5 4590 and for most games released now thats becoming like the bare minimum required. Let alone the recommended.

Thus, if I want to upgrade my CPU it also needs to go into a 1151 socket instead of the 1150 thus I need a new motherboard. If I get a new motherboard my current DDR3 RAM isn't going to be compatible so I will need DDR4 RAM...

You get the point. My R9 is also getting to the bare minimum requirement for games nowadays so to only upgrade that to a new GPU is a bit pointless.

I currently have 16GB as well but I'm really shocked at how expensive RAM is these days. I remember getting 512mb 800MhZ DDR2's for like, 6 euro a piece. Considering that DDR2 isn't being used anymore it's astounding to find that 8gb RAM can easily cost you 50euro, which is bonkers. GPU's have always stayed in the same price-ranges but RAM has just skyrocketed in terms of price.

I would definitely recommend a GPU upgrade and realistically you want something in the X60 range if you plan to game. X50's aren't really designed around gaming long-term.

You can try a Website Named "Can you run It". the site install a little checker for your computer and after you can watch if you can run every game (Minimum requierement or recommanded).

Check on google :) > https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
