Play as the dinosaurs?

I can't believe they didn't let us have this ability. You build it up, and then...watch AI tear it down. Oh boy, fun. Or, you take control of a dinosaur of your choice, and do it yourself. Also part of the fun, get it?

It's not just walking around in your pen.

Take control of the dinosaur, and disable it's AI by doing so. The AI takes over again like it never left, when you relinquish control. Eat your kill, or eat from the food correct dispenser. Also, drink water when you're at water. A simple prompt here will do. All the scripts are already in the game. They trigger as you make them trigger (under the correct circumstances). Fight other dinosaurs, bust your gate open, eat a human! Realise control, and then deal with that dinosaur like you always do. It's pretty simple in concept. But, they didn't take advantage of this. Common modders, you guys do this kinda thing all the time. :)

prob would have to be in sandbox mode because otherwise it would be sorta cheaty but otherwise i dont see why not

Constructive! lol. I'd like the option for sure. I was one of those kids who made a lego tower, then knocked it down. Both were fun things to do! I guess you weren't one of those kids, Peter? Or, possibly still a kid, and should try it?

@zulu, ya man, I see that in sandbox mode too! No reason it shouldn't be! Missed potential right there. I think they just couldn't do it, or ran out of time, or need a better think tank lol.

First of all, there are already plenty of games that allow you to play as a dinosaur. The Isle, Beasts of Bermuda, Path of titans, Mods on ARK. We don't need another one.

Besides, the game is NOT MEANT to be another dinosaur simulator. You're supposed to oversee and manage the parks. If all you want to do is play as a dino. Maybe this isn't the game for you.

That should def be part of the game. Maybe an unlockable or DLC? I can imagine controlling a dino and manually running through the park grabbing a person and trying different button combos for different attacks and "fatalities".
The freedom is endless.

+1 to OP, sometimes we like managing a park and making it beautiful but every once in a while, it'd be fun to take control of the opposite scale in the views of a dino. Then when we're done messing around just go back to control. If we could control of a dino, what if we could amass our pack? Like say we decided to go with the raptors, social with them, scheme our way to breaking out and trying past the ranger team. It'd be a lot of fun. Easy DLC they could do in the future maybe?
And @the people who say buy or play some other game instead; NO. Not everyone likes to play those games and a DLC is something you can CHOOSE to buy/play. Let people enjoy these things. People would've modded this from day one if they could, but the company isn't allowing modding because "They're still working on it." was literally their reply. So, playing a dino could feature a whole other path that's fun for those who enjoy an all in one game.

I have my doubts, this being a park manager and kind of is a odd shift from the actual mechanics that this game has going, not smacking you for the idea though, I just don't think it will happen in this game.

What about Dr. Wu's addition? That's got nothing to do with park building lol. So, suddenly, playable dinosaurs in sandbox mode (a DLC the majority of fans will buy) seems fair. To argue it has nothing to do with park building is a tad hypocritical. Add to this your creations from the Dr. Wu DLC.

Suddenly making dinosaurs playable would make this a entirely different game, It wouldn't be a park builder anymore, Wu's made use of existing mechanics and added on to it but it wasn't -that- drastic.
