animals never socialize
in Return To Jurassic Park i got a quest to take photos of dinosaurs socializing. they NEVER socialize. i tried the trikes, the chickens, the big ones, the parasaurs, they never do. they just eat and drink and sleep for days on end.
is this a bug or am i doing something wrong? i had to quit the game after 4 hours of waiting for them to socialize, it got boring AF.

They should, but if they don't can't you just abandon the quest and get another like in the regular game (I don't yet have the expansion to know if it handles any of those things differently).

You do have enough of each species you tried to meet the minimum Social requirement for each correct?

As long as this minimum is met, they should socialize. One thing I have found in the latest updates of the game is that sometimes there are bugs. Though, just reloading the save (don't even have to go to main menu or different save first) usually works to clear them up.

i think the minimum is met, but i cannot add new dinos anyway, this is the campaign, and everything is locked, i guess they will unlock later so i can add new dinos. after reload, the only difference is that sometimes the trikes attack the car, or they fight for alpha status. no socializing though.

Hi Captain,
socializing usually happens when a new dino is added to the pack.
So if you can add another to the "chickens" and be there when it is released, you should be able to snap the shot as they are socializing.
I hope this helps

does this work even if i relocate a dino to another pen? because right now i cannot add NEW ones, it is disabled from the campaign scenario. i have some trikes in another pen, but no gallimimus, the raptors ate them all before the first mission. i will try it, thanks for the tip :)

Puh! Good question!
Can you sell one via the ACU? I can't recall having a limit on breeding during the campaign, so I'm not sure if it is "no breeding at all" or if you simply hit a threshold..

i simply cannot build a hammond center yet, and without it i cannot create dinos. btw i tried bringing in dinos from other pens, but they just joined in, without any socialising. this is the stupidest thing to get stuck on, i really hate this. is there a cheat to make current objectives activate? :))))

I too am stuck here and as stated, without a Hammond Center, we cannot introduce a new dinosaur nor progress without the socializing picture.

i just gave up. nothing worked. too bad i couldn't get a refund for it, that DLC is unplayable because of this quest. but i won't be any more dlc's for this game.

Glad you replied.....I figured it out. Go into the map mode, select the dinosaur view and scroll over the moving dinosaurs. It states clearly what their actions are, eating, walking, drinking, etc. Though the in game narrative talks about socializing with other species, it just took a group of the same species interacting together as a group to achieve the picture needed.

I would use the northern group since it has the more passive dinosaurs that will likely not ram your jeep. Just look for a group of 3 or 4 of the same breed and as they move around in a small area, take their picture, but also verify with the map feature.

if you use any cheat then it cant be done, had to start all over and then it worked all out

When you begin the Return to Jurassic Park Campaign, there is no Hammond Creation Lab to build. But you already have something to create dinosaurs with. It's the Arrival Helipad. That is what you use. And you can create dinosaurs there and take pictures of them socializing. That was confusing for me as well at first, I too was looking for a Hammond Creation Lab, but then hit me when I clicked on the Arrival Helipad and it said, (Remote Hatching Bay), so clicked on it and sure enough there are all the dinosaurs that I can incubate. And in a way, even better, because instead of releasing it right there when it's completed, you actually are asked to pick a location and they fly it in and drop it off into an enclosure instead of you having to do that yourself... nice!

Now when in Sandbox Mode, playing Jurassic Park theme, there is a Hammond Creation Lab, not the Arrival Helipad to use. So it's a Campaign thing to use to incubate dinosaurs.

Parasaurs, gallimimus and struthiomimus socialize a lot as well, so have at least two of them and wait outside their enclosures with the ranger car with the camera on until they start talking
