But yes, the dinosaurs are usually all bred female to prevent unauthorized breeding.
No worries.
A medium sized Tyrannosaur. Would most certainly be welcome.
In JP's story it's established that they found a way to control the population of Isla Nublar's dinos by altering chromosomes to produce only females in the park. One of the themes in the story (running through the sequels as well) is the hubris of mankind to try and control nature in this fashion. Dr Malcolm, who warns JP's scientists about the dangers of chaos, delivers that famous line: "Life, uh, finds a way"
And it does. Dr Grant finds hatched eggs in the grounds of the park - the dinos, in a single sex environment were able to change their sex due to their hybrid nature (utilising genes from the frogs they're spliced with, which have the ability to alter their sex).
This game sticks to canon and so there you have it - female dinos. It would be nice to unlock an option to have males as there's the opportunity to have new behaviours (such as mating displays) and more vibrant skins. But ah well.
The problem with that is if they add more then one gender, they will also have to make a way for them to reproduce, and...well I don't want to get too deep into that, but frontier would have to create all sorts of animations they most -certainly- wouldn't do, or go the Spore route and *poof* nest and eggs.I very much doubt we will see any dinosaurs in this game doing the horizontal mambo no. 5.
Sometimes people need to think about what they wish for.
I'm fine with a pop-up saying the Science division have noticed such and such dino is carrying eggs haha.
That's good, Iv'e seen alot of people say they wanted to make it realistic, I really doubt they would make it very graphic if they added such a feature at all.
My other worry would be the baby dinosaurs, as frontier would have to create new models and animations for a baby for every species present and future, and that would be far too time consuming on their end to do, let alone any multiples for growth stages.
