Heheh, I don't blame you-although it letting out all the carnivores can be a big problem.
Though saying that sometimes it letting out all the herbivores can be an even bigger problem XD
Carnivores have a hunt and eat animations for one single guest at a time.
Herbivores simply stampede through them killing a bunch at once. XD

More than twice as much dinosaurs as allowed and probably also waaaayyy too much visitors as allowed.
I think they had a population restriction either, but I modded my game files back in 2009 (still used the backup) to open up the limits.
Yet it seems the engine cannot bear anything more than that. Random crashes, when zooming in are surely a let down.
But as soon as they get reproducable, I simply recommend to enjoy this old gem with the boring and plain default settings.
I can't. I played the hell out of it in 2003 and just got back into it in 2009 by enhancing the game INIs or lets rather call it "breaking them". ^^
8000 visitors wasn't something special for my JWE parks, but I see why these don't have all their single stats.
That would probably lead to some possible instability.
So I am happy that JWE runs that good for me and will lay JPOG to rest again.
Even though it's funny I simply couldn't understand randomly dying visitors (when there is enough place to eat, rest and have a crap) and that crashing just isn't worth it.
Yet, JWE spoilt me in having a bigger area (even though it's pre-defined) to place my enclosures including a stable gameplay (I just had one driver crash recently, which is far away from being almost unplayable as my raped version of JPOG is... Well changing INI files is my fault of course, but the default settings are so boring.
This is the size of a Rex aside of the JPOG breeder.
The breeder itself is 5 squares long and 2 squares broad (JPOG has a square system to measure buildings size)

The island I created in this vid is the biggest one possible for JPOG (you cannot flatten over the borders, there will always water surrounding the island).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPuf-oBHQ8w
As you can see, I was able to use 84 breeders to surround the buildable area.
Yet, no terrain constraints or else was in the way and the form of the island is almost a clean square. Easy to build on. :)
Which surely is an advantage of JPOG.
Here we have a Rex from JWE sleeping in fron of the restaurant.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1581889404
First of all, the restaurant is twice as long as the Rex (or even more), while the breeder in JPOG is only slightly bigger.
Then again, I had terrain constraints and wasted much space with the restaurants.
So I needed a total of 71 restaurants to surround the buildable area with:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU9FtjIHHhk
The number appears to be lower, but as seen the restaurant is way bigger than the breeder in JPOG.
So I still stay with the statement, that the island in JPOG weren't bigger than in JWE (at least when it comes to Isla Nublar).
And especially they weren't as effective, as you couldn't really use big room in JPOG, when there were building and dinosaur limits available.
I support the bidding for better ground management too in JWE.
Building constraints are often annoying, but compared to JPOG I don't have to edit INI files and make the game unstable if I want to have a big park.
1) The AI wasn't bad in JPOG.
2) The guests are condensed because there's only one type of guest.
3) You can manually drive the jeep in JPOG just fine and even hit dinos wth it causing damage to both your jeep and the dino.
4) I just played JPOG a few days ago a little bit. I didn't have any issue with dinos being leftin their pen when they died nor did I have that issue leaving them there when they died in this game either.
5) I gave "JWE" a try, I'm very dissappointed. I can't get my $23 back because I played over the 2 hour limit when testing the game before I discovered how shallow and horrible it was, particularly after unlocking the free play island with the most land on it being a totally fking useless island in the game.
The fact that you can procedurally generate islands and play from start to finish without island swapping all the time and having retarded mobile game mechanics, helps a lot in re-playability. If you're forced to play the same map same shape same everything over and over again, its boring, stupid, pointless. Thats what Jurassic World Evolution is. Shallow, boring, repetetive. There's no custom gameplay, there's just 5 missions and a kiddie island where everything's free so long as you unlocked it in the 5 mission areas.
I'll be recording some gameplay of JPOG soon enough when I figure out how to get nVidia Share to record it. It doesn't want to record old games for some reason.
DLC is not how you make a game better. You shouldn't be forced to buy ridiculously priced DLC in order to have playability.
"Welp, I completed all 5 missions and unlocked all the content, guess the game's over with now. Gotta wait for the next $20 DLC to come out to buy a new mission to play for a few hours and wait for the next DLC again."
And the license ♥♥♥♥ that this game has, thats why it sucks balls. All the restrictions that were forced upon them, the game devs should have just said "♥♥♥♥ you, we're not making a game under these conditions. We don't want our reputation ruined."
Thats one of the things I found to be horrible in this game too, paths that are like driving on the side of a fking mountain that make no sense at all.
Please don't use words when you don't know what they mean.
The islands are NOT "procedurally" generated.
There are pre-definded islands in Operation Genesis and the user can add a random factor to any of them by changing 4 different values:
1.) Shape.
2.) Trees
3.) Rivers
4.) Mountains
And beside of that the islands can even get a bit larger, when the borders are increased by using the "flatting" tool.
But that's all. There is no "procedurally" generated magic behind it like in the galaxy of No Man's Sky. Because at the end, when you go for the biggest land mass the island WILL look the same as the one I built. As that's the biggest island you can generate in JPOG.
So all JPOG is,
1.) a boring game where you don't need big islands as you can only breed 60 dinosaurs per map and even the buildings have a limit (fences too!).
2.) a nice game when you increase the dinosaur, visitor and building limits. But it starts to get very unstable if you do so. But again, without changing the INI files you have simply a very low amount of stuff you can do, regardless how big your island is.
And you either have a very low count of visitors compared to JWE. Which is the reason why any of these have a their own stats. As any visitors is an own process. In JWE that would mean 8000 new, enhanced processes the engine have to take care of, when you have a big park. oO
Also in JPOG your visitors can die, when your park is too big. I also recorded a video about that, simply because their AI is garbage.
I put tons of food, rest and restroom buildings onto my island but aside of crashing, I often get randomly dying visitors, as they are unable to satisfy their needs.
A previous user already recommend that you should stop being a smartass and now you start to actually put some hate into your comments:
Then enjoy whatever game you enjoy.
I think it's time to move on.
For myself I also told once what's wrong with Doom (2016) on the hub. The response wasn't very nice as of people loving that game, but hey I had my opinion and simply stopped playing it.
That's all you can do if you don't like something. Reason why it doesn't suit yourself and then leave it at that.
I don't think it's that good if you start a crusade on this hub. You stated your opinion, but now you start that "I don't like the game and you are not allowed to like it either"-mood.
That doesn't give your arguments any additional credit, but only gives yourself bad credit.
Right now with frequent updates I agree JWE is getting better and closer to the game it is supposed to be. Let's just hope they give us the ability to generate our own sandbox island someday and fix a lot of their problems. Smarter AI guests that knows to run away from the danger for example.
Yeah. I find it really hard to make lovely parks like I used to do in Planet Coaster. When given the right tools some people can create masterpiece. This game lacks that tool. A lot of it in fact :P
Well my experience with it wasn't the best recently, so that would be an unjustified burning. ^^
But that's just the regular witch hunt. XDD
No worries, I get the joke. ;)
Yup XD. herbivores can be way more dangerous if they start running everyone over. So many injuries XD.
Sure if you have no creativity at all. Go do the Challenge Mode-Start a new park on Sorna, see how fast you can get it to 5 Stars-it's basically JPOG. Go redo the islands that are in the story-from scratch by resetting them if you wanna see how you'd do with everything unlocked and knowing the game better. All the DNA will still be there, see how well you do with different dinos. I guarantee you mjissed a lot of space you could use if you just did the missions.
Go do the Sandbox on Nublar, try to recreate Jurassic Park, or Jurrassic World, or how you think it should have been, or a battle arena, or a nature reserve. Plenty to do if you put a little creativity into it.
Also, I've played Jurassic park: The Game, Jurassic World: The Game and Jurassic World: Alive, all of which are actual mobile games with actual mobile game mechanics. This game doesn't fit the bill. Sometimes I think people just read someones negative review saying it has 'mobile game mechanics' in their opinion and then come on here and complain that it has them without knowing what they actually are.
Best enclosure I built was a large rex enclosure. Made a valley with a river running through it. Left side was a higher terrain with jungle and 2 incubators, right side was the same, in the valley at the back I put one for the rex's, spino, or w.e. I wanted to house.
Put the carnivore feeders and lures in the center, and put the herb feeders and lures on the far sides, towards the front so guests could see everything.
Rarely would lose dinos, unless I intentionally turned off lures or turned the ones on in the center.
Thing was awesome and brought a stupid ammount of money into the park.
I'd also like to point out, you could easily mod the game files yourself.
Not only can you not make your own stuff. Here, they expect you to pay for dinosaur packs in micro transactions...
Game is such a disappointment.
Not gonna lie. I've gone back to JPOG since JW:E and... there are so many bugs and issues it's not funny. Teleporting Dinosaurs, buggy meshes and an unresponsive terrain manipulation system. "Terrain Constraints" Might be annoying in JW:E but the Dinosaurs look and feel so much better in this game. The game's like nothing I've played since JPOG and nearly 100 hours in. I'm still having fun, just having bought The Secrets of Dr. Wu and still maxing out Sorna on my second playthrough.
