What kind of security measures should I take?
I really overdo security systems on any game that has them (for the most part)

So, I was wondering, should I add an 'airlock' gate or is that just a waste of space?

When the gates open up to let rangers through, I usually worry a dinosaur will use that chance to escape, so I find myself waiting for the dinosaurs to back off from the gate before I enter/exit.

Should I make an 'airlock' gate where I set one gate, drive the jeep in, wait for it to close, then open the next gate and send the jeep through, making sure one gate is closed at all times, or will the AI never send dinosaurs through when it's opened (by a jeep)?

Also, I was thinking about making an 'island' in the middle of a ginormous enclosure, where there might be a viewing area and a hotel or shops or etc, because it'll be surrounded by dinosaurs, accessed by a monorail. Should I add any special precautions to the walls around the 'island' or will a normal fence do? (heavy steel fence, mind you)

If you have any other tips, sharing them would be appreciated. My main carnivore pen has 3 Ceratosaurus's with the occasional fourth to spark some combat, if that helps you decide what I should do.

Thanks! :steamhappy:

They don't try. I once sat there for a few minutes to test and they never attempted to escape.

So no, it is a bit of a waste of space. I really wish they would try though, it's a cool idea.

If you really want to be safe, I reccomend concrete electric for the island. Dinosaurs will go straight to your guests normally so it's good to stall them as much as possible.

Use the best fence, Concrete w/ Electric. And dinosaurs won't escape through the gate while a ranger has it open, unfortunately. Having to design an airlock of sorts would be cool though, more realistic.

Best way to keep dinosaurs in- keep them happy with big enough enclosures with enough forest/grassland for their comfort bar.
