Meaning. No mods can ever be put up without it being ok'd. I dont want people cheating with mods to get DLC dinosaurs and yes, there are a ton of games with mods that do it. Total War is a big one.
Avoiding paying liek the rest of the legimate customers is cheating. Period.
You forgot to mention that because of said mods the game life has been extremely extended past it normal life span. Mods add a new way of playing the game. Look at skyrim ppl still play that game because of mods.
Literally this.
JWE is not a standalone game, it is explicitly tied to a brand. Therefore, unfortunate as it may be, the product must be one that reflects said brand. Modding is highly unlikely, as that completely nullifies any control over quality/content Universal may have. I'm ok with this IF the game gets continued support and timely new content. Which is something I have no doubt Frontier can handle. Personally I'd rather see more islands than a rainbow-colored, Unicorn Rex.
Sad but true a studio would rather let a game fail then to allow modding. I don't care for unicorn rex what ever I really don't like the hybrids either. I would like to fix the AI of the guest. It drives me crazy that they run into an exhibit or just stay still when they are about to be eaten. I do hope we get more from frontier. Maps, dinos, and for them to go in depth with guest.
I wont deny that. Thatys why I want modding, but controlled modding. I dont want people to get things that others have to pay for. It's stupid.
DinoGuy18-
on some levels sutch as people just re-uploading DLC Dinosaurs to the steam workshop, i think a solution to this might be a report system, if someone sees something from the DlC thay can report it and if it is or something from or very close to the DLC then it can be taken down, if it is nothing like the DLC then mabye the person who reported it can not report anything else,
i dont know if steam can add this its just an idea, Thank You For Reading -DinoGuy18
it isn't going to add mod support, mods are a pain to deal with many times....even really well tuned games for it have trouble sifting through to find ones that feel appropriate quality.
yes I believe in a large part it is Universal, but I feel like Frontier at least wants to avoid this as well for releasing their future content. No one can stop them from modding it though if they figure out ways to do so.
on the other hand, this game immediately made me think I wish someone could come in here and mod the AI and some jeep stuff asap. I think its very possible Frontier may never "fix" certain things I would want to see.
