And I'm someone who loves dinosaurs and my favorite depictions of dinosaurs like the velociraptor or zhenyuanlong are the ones that have them feathered (though I'm not aware of any zhenyuanlong paleoart that doesn't have them feathered), so I'm not really biased against them or anything.
From those currently ingame only a few had feathers.
Yeah, I dunno about most, but the more birdlike dinosaurs like the velociraptor were definitely covered in feathers. The tyrannosaurus is believed to have been partially covered in feathers, mostly on the back. Carnotaurus at least had feathers on their arms, probably for display purposes. But the thing with Jurassic Park/World is that the dinosaurs are not made to be scientifically accurate. There's even an in-universe explanation from Dr. Wu, where he says the dinosaurs were designed to appeal to the expectations of visitors.
"Nothing in Jurassic World is natural. We have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And, if their genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different. But you didn't ask for reality. You asked for more teeth."
Realistically, using a toad to fill in the gaps in the genome, if it were even possible to find dinosaur DNA to begin with, would be a nonsensical thing to do. The closest living relatives of the dinosaurs are birds. Why use the DNA of an amphibian instead of a bird? That's just stupid. lol
^This.
I love my accurate prehistoric animals, but I know as much as people beg or demand the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park/World to be accurate, they wont change the Velociraptors apperence or increase the size of the Dilophosaurus as the way they are has been iconic to the franchise for decades. Despite the countless discoveries of the theropods that had feathers scince the franchise was created, I think it's safe to say that we should just enjoy the animals as we have them in the game. Also, I beleive they said there will be no workshop or mod support, the Devs are not against the idea, but they want to remain faithful to the look of the franchise the best they can, and the level of quality that they are holding themselves up to would be very difficult to achieve individually.
I love the way they used that to fill the gap between the movie monsters and real dinosaurs.
I think it was cause the "junk" frog dna was more readily available, and also it helped them acclimate to the Costa Rican climate better. Wu also said during his conversation with Mazrani in the Jurassic World movie that the dinosaurs don't look like they're meant to, it's because that's what people want to see, hence scales, not feathers.
Though in both the first Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, the West African Frog and Tree Frog DNA ended up costing them the entire park and lead to people dying. It still dumbfounds me that these scientists didn't know the gender switcheroo or the Indominus being able to hide from heat seeking equipment would be a side-effect.
Whatever you do, stay away from the abandoned, steaming pile of dung that is Mesozoica.
I dunno. The best guesstimate of what the t-rex actually looked like is pretty darn terrifying.

Suchomimus in game has appropriately turned wrists, and i'd love to see a end to the super-silly bunny-posed arms that has to literally break the dinosaurs' bones to turn that way xD i don't know why it bothers me, but it does. Non-pronated hands would improve the models for me, while keeping the scaly jurassic park franchise look xD
they did it for suchomimus, so that's already a plus to that model in my book
Yeah...That part on how the Tyrannosaurus would "fall over" is just utterly stupid and the most bs I've heard in a while.
