Management Views (Food, Drink, Shops, and Fun don't show anything)
As mentioned in the discussion title, the only management view I can see when playing the game is Power, Dino Visibility, Storm Protection and Shelter Coverage. The aspects for the shops and fun zones show nothing. Which sucks because the main thing I have yet to do is 5 star on Sorna, and I'm having difficulty understanding where my deficient sections of the park are.

I typically concentrate shops around my hotels, but are there other areas that benefit from having shops and whatnot? Are these Food, Drink, etc, ratings simply based on island coverage and not focused on concentration around guest-centric buildings?

They seem to be focused around guest-centric buildings. In my management view, viewing galleries will have guest needs, including food / drink / shopping. Putting some of those facilities down and increasing the employee count as the guest count goes up seems to satisfy the desires, but it doesn't appear to be island-wide coverage, but more of a radius around the building

all the areas that need guest services will be coloured on the heatmap of the management view. Typically these buildings are hotels viewing galleries/towers and gyro stations

they are a light green/blue when the area is satisfied. if it's not then it'll be either yellow or red

If the areas are green but you're still not hitting the 5 stars then check to see if your shops are at capacity. If they are then increase the staff count. Check all your facility ratings

If all else fails I've heard that closing the park, waiting for zero guests and then reopening your park is a method you can use to get a 4.5+ star park to straight away hit 5 stars upon re-opening but I've not used it personally

Thanks! My issue is unfortunately the heat maps don't show up outside of Shelter, Power, and Storm Defense. I heard they were guest centric buildings but I actually figured that meant just hotels and visitor centers. Didn't realie that included viewng galleries, etc. Thanks! Huge help!

They should. Are you having clipping issues?

Probably? I'm playing on a laptop experiencing some issues. But it works well enough so rather than try to fix them I'm saving up for a top of the line gaming laptop. So it's likely just my computer isn't showing the heat maps due to reasons. :)

At this point I really only have Sorna left to get five stars and was having issues with the facilities rating. My guess is it's due to the size of the park and how spread out everything gets as I expand. I'm not placing those types of buildings out by viewing galleries and towers, with a few exceptions for the viewing buildings near hotels and/or visitor centers. I have a 5 star dino rating right now so maybe I'll drop a few restaurants near viewing galleries and get that extra .8 star push on facilities! Once I get the five star once I honestly don't care!

Can you at least see the buttons to enable the heatmaps for food/shopping/fun, they just don't do anything when pressed?

Yeah. I can go to Management Views in the main side bar to see Shelter, etc, but clicking on Food, Shops, Fun, and Drink just tell me the percent I'm at, no heat maps. Then there is a Management View in the menu for each shop/restaurant and they don't do anything either.

Also, weird thing is I just build a Monorail station next to a new hotel, and a few shops, which are also really close to the new TRex viewing galleries I made for her new paddock, made a really high rated Rex with no spots in the paddock that she can't be seen from. Food and Shopping ratings climbed slightly but then fell a little again, while Transport rating only climbed 2%... Frustrating! I only care because I want the last cosmetic gene unlocked!

Planning on placing another paddock and viewing area on the opposite side right next to monorail, that should bump up the transport rating, right?
Sorcerer Mickey Jun 22, 2018 @ 12:07pm
I assume you have a monorail station by the park entrance as well? If not your transport stats won't do much
Sinsling Jun 22, 2018 @ 12:11pm
Placing more won't help as there seems to be a basic problem with your park. Part of it could be overcrowding. You could try shutting down your park, wait for everyone to leave, then re-open the park.

Monorail station was not that far from the entrance, but also not super close. Redesigned the track with an added station closer to the entrance. Part of my monorail design I initially made the tracks swing out over some dino pens so riders would get a view of some attractions. Before I even added the closer monorail station at the entrance I demolished these tracks and made more of a straight line track from station to station. Seems like reducing the amount of track really helped. So I figured the track to stations ration must factor into that rating as well. Which was actually the reason I added the station near the entrance, I hadn't read the last two posts until coming back to post this one.

Anyway, I actually already closed the park, destroyed everything, even flattened all the ground, activated the lysine contingency (let the dinos roam free with no feeders until they were picked off by all the carnivores or died of starvation), and then began from the beginning. Did this even before my original post. So you can imagine how badly I had planned Sorna before even this post!

As I expanded into the remaining areas of the park today and redesigned the track I was able to maintain a pretty good rating, but was just a little off of 5 stars on Facilities. While I tried to micromanage every aspect of my food, shopping, etc for over an hour to perfect it and get that last little boost to my rating I finally realized when a storm broke a bunch of fences for various carnivore paddocks that a lot of my guests were not hiding despite opening all shelters... OH CRAP!!! I was so focused on food, drink, shops, etc, that I forgot to place more shelters and it actually said right in front of my face, on the menu I had been looking at for so freaking long, that my shleter rating was Poor. It took this disaster for it to highlight red and tell me so.

After containing all the loose dinos I dropped 3-4 shelters on various areas of the map to bring my shelter coverage from whatever it was to 99% and TAA-DAA!!! 5 Stars Achieved!!!!! Now the only thing I have left achievement wise is to finish the InGen Database. :)

Thanks to everyone on this post for your help!
