Has anyone gotten to the Electrified Concrete fence yet? I'm curious if a double-fence set up with one of the layers being the EC fence does a better job. Mine kept breaking out with the set up you've suggested. (Damn, Genetic Modding...)
i keep 4, in a large enclosure. i just use an electric fence. the social portion is very important. you also need 2 feeders to keep 4 fed. 4 seems to be the magic number to keep them happy.
Which is why I stopped producing Dracorexes. They're awesome to look at, but if they're the only ones and you can't replace the dead ones fast enough...
Raptors have a very short fuse, Just compare their comfort bar to other dinos. The red part is much longer. It does not take much to set them off.
You just need to keep them at 100% comfort almost alll the time during normal conditions. If you do that they will rarely break out even during a storm.
Some advice:
Keep at least 4 raptors and no more than 5. You can get by with 3, but if one dies you will have to rush to replace it. Keeping no more than 5 makes it a little easier to deal with them when they eventually breakout.
Have at least one feeder for every 2 raptors you got. This helps ensure one does not get upset as the result of being hungry. Not 100% sure about this. I just noticed a couple of times one of the raptors getting upset when they were hungry and the other raptors already were eating the goats.
If you keep them 100% comfortable most of the time with only slight dips here and there during normal conditions an electric fence is all you need to keep them locked up the majority of the time. Even during storms.
During storm keep an eye on them.
Before including them in your park make sure you are generating more power than you need. If one of youe power stations goes down the electric fence is still getting power. Have multiple transformers(? not sure if that is what they are called in game) supplying power to the fence. If one gets knocked out in a storm the other can power the fence. Make sure to include multiple power line routes leading to the raptor enclosure. You can power down less important buildings if you need to keep the fence electrified.
Make sure your ranger station is somewhat close to their enclosure. If it is not just bulldoze the one you already have and rebuild the station closer or have 2 ranger stations.
In the event of a breakout having the ACU fully upgraded helps a lot. I suggest 1 on reload speed and the rest on accuracy. My reasoning here is no point in reloading fast if they are simply going to miss and from what I witness without the upgrades they miss a whole bunch. With all the upgrades slots used for accuracy except 1 they still miss a lot, but take down the dinos much quicker.
Accept the fact they will breakout, but you can lessen the occurance dramatically. Besides most times when they do it should be when most of your guest will already be in the bunkers. That is if you are keeping them comfortable enough under normal conditions.
i keep around 4-5 in one paddock depeinding on size paddock and social limit
in the first movie the only reason the dinosaurs escaped in the first place was because the power went down.... as long as you got power they should never escape. period.
if their comfort zone is low they should just start to kill each other instead of breaking through electrified fences.
the devs need a serious doze of common sense.
2 will certainly not work. It puts them on edge and their already short fuse is really short then.
3 worked for me, but if something happens to one it sets the other two off.
5 or more just means you have more trying to break the fence down and increasing their chances of succeeding. Plus when they do eventually escape you have to chase down 5 or more instead of 4 raptors.
4 is the number to go with.
