Will Dinosaurs Eat other Dinosaurs?

Hi all,

If i put a Carnivore in a pen with no meat feeders but a handfull of smaller Herbivorous will the Carnivore eat them?

Ofcourse they will., but you really should just use feeders.

They will hunt and kill the herbivores even if you put in a meat feeder. You should never put in carnivores with herbivores with a few exceptions. I think small carnivores like raptors won't attack a brachiosaurus.

i think it's stupid you can't mix and match them. in jpog, you could do that regularly in the base game and it wasn't too destructive when one herbivore died once in awhile, but that isle b or whatever it was called was a good example of mixing them up.

i can't stand this game the way it is, separating carnivores and herbivores. if it wasn't too destructive to your rep and $, i'd still do it anyway, but they're so aggressive it's like they never stop attacking herbivores non-stop, even if they aren't "hungry".

Thats intresting after my original post i decied to try it, but i have 4 Herbivorous and Carnivore. But the Carnivore is in the red for hunger and its not attacking the Herbivorous for food.

Its been in the same pen for about half an hour now and not once has it attacked, to me thats dissapointing. I was hoping they would attack i assumed watching them hunt and attack each other would prove entertaning & bring in the big buck$

That's strange, carnivores always attack herbivores for me. Btw. which dinosaurs did you use in particular. As I mentioned there are some differences, small carnivores won't attack large herbivores like brachio or whatever.

The carnivore is a Ceratosaurus (only one of them), and the Herbivores in the same pen are Triceratops (1 of them) and Struthiomimus (3 of them)

The pen is not large & they walk near each other often and some times the Herbivores will back off but not all the time.

The Ceratosaurus is now right at the bottom of the red bar for hunger, if she does not hunt soon ill have to put a feeder in or she will die.

I'm making a survival map on Jwe2. I hope this works lol for 2, I have many many herbivores on it I'm still making the map then I'll place more carnivores down.

My first - and very expensive - T-Rex got killed by a Ceratosaurus. (It was intended the other way round. Thats's why I placed them together.)

Now the little carnivores are eating him.

Even if you put feeders the carnivores will still eat the herbivores but anyway

Yes, I starved the meat eaters and they went after the other dinosaurs. All towards appeasing a contract. lol

I put raptors with a group of stegos and they were fine. You have to play with the combinations, but you can put carnivores and herbivores together, they just have to be the right ones. Some, you can’t put with anything else.

I didn’t know they ate each other. Satisfaction goes down if you leave dead dinos lying around, so I never do.
