Map size is way too small
I think it is pretty clear at this point that the size of the maps in Jurassic World: Evolution is way too small. I can barely fit 4-5 enclosures on Isla Nublar and that is the sandbox island. It feels like this game was designed with the idea that the enclosure sizes featured in the likes of JPOG is good enough for a game made in 2018. The playable area on these maps needs to be increased. I can understand islands like Isla Pena being small due to that being their challenge but islands like Nublar, Matanceros, Muerta need to have a playable area that does not make you feel cramped or incredibly restricted. It just restricts replayability and the ability to create a park that feels alive and real. Sorry if this sounds like a rant (it sort of is I guess) but I really just want this game to improve in the areas its lacking.

Padocks are not my issue with map sizes.... Mine is over population of people currently 67%.... Im on to my 12 hotel! with no more room for more. Satisfaction is dropping 4 stars now because of it.

I wish there was a way to limit ticket sales but the only option is to open and close the park... current ticket sales $905,566.

This is certainly another problem with limited map sizes, it seems they wanted it to be a challenge but it just ends up being unenjoyable.
I only wish for one extra buildin;

Public toilets. You know you want them because when you gotta go you gotta go.

Personally, I think they should bring out a DLC with bigger maps, leave the current ones as they are. They pose quite a challenge in some aspects and that's a good thing.

But what would these new maps be?
Only the other 90 percent of unused space on all the islands.
Sorry, im using the buggy steam app as i am currently in transit. I wanted to quote Spooky Ravioli but it didn’t let me. Then i tried to edit my comment but you guessed it, the app won’t let me.

Ive completely expanded the maps on all my islands and set the "park boundry" to be the ocean water.

There's a few drawbacks... The game "breaks" after about 120-150 dinos.. well not breaks, but it gets to the point where they are all non stop dying of old age. So to make a park HUGE, it would have to have no more than 100-120

The simulation starts to LAG.. it wasn't made to handle a massive park on an entire island.. even on my machine, once i make a park about 3Xs bigger than intended, my FPS is slashed in 1/2

Keep in mind expanding any map other than the SB island completely unbalances those islands as it makes them "easy" so the challenge will be next to none

Once I write a progam to mod the island files, it will be at your OWN risk to mod them

Now as far as "the legalness" of some modds. If I uploaded my island files, that really could be a violation . so I'll have to write a program to do it..

As long as :

1) You aren't tampering with the exe file
2) You are using a program to mod the games data files

then you are 100% in the legal clear

Edit: I tried removing the boundry COMPLETELY and tried to build on the ocean.. and THAT crashed the game.. so I left the boundries set to the ocean water. Now I just need a couple weeks to code a windows app to mod them

You are a gentleman and a scholar. plz release soon?

the maps are tight because the devs made a poor mechanic decision with respect to dino needs for space. If you had unlimited space that requirement wouldn't mean jack. Thus they restricted the islands and the scope of your "dream park" so that dinos could get mad if their enclosure was too tight.
it's only herbs that need a fair amount of space. carnivores can get away with a fairly small enclosure. hell even some herbs can manage in a tiny box like enclosure. You can easily make your dream park with the space given, you just have to be smart about dino needs.

They could still be on the same islands, your parks are only tiny part of the islands given to you.

Maybe some players are ok with making parks that look like a combination of old school zoo and industrial estate, but I wanted to actually make Jurassic World with nice big enclosures.
I agree with Dorian, the dinos can be happy with small enclosures..But esthesic it looks like ♥♥♥♥. I want larger enclosures for them to wander around
Its slightly disappointing that people are just settling with this game, it could be so much more. And with the time they had to make it its OK at best.

If they dont want to make the current maps bigger maybe add in a map generator like JPOG did just you know, bigger and better. A game where you think the star focus should be the dinosaurs ends up being pleasing the people. Sure you can have a ton of canrivore enclosures because they dont need as much space and I do get its supposed to be a management game. But still.

Well that's the thing, there's not much in the dinosaur park sim genre at the best of times so people take what they can get. But the thing that gets me is that the islands in this game are definitely big enough, it's the tiny fraction of those islands we actually get to use that's the problem. But looks like TallBear has figured out a solution, and I'm going to try and emulate his success myself if I can. Better way to spend time than trying to squeeze another poor dinosaur into one of my overcrowded, ugly little island prisons haha
except people aren't "just settling with this game" every other thread on the subreddit, dedicated forum and here are about improvements that could be made to make the game even better, people are clearly being very vocal about even the smallest improvements that could be made.

thankfully frontier seems rather open to suggestions and do seem to intend to continue supporting the game for the foreseeable future... either way people definitely aren't "settling", that much is obvious.
