High GPU Usage

Is it normal that I use the lowest setting of the graphics but still get 80% under GTX 1080?!

FYI. I'm on 2 1080TIs and I'm at 120 FPS with 105% power use and 85% GPU use and that's with Vsync on. High GPU is normal and good. It's only bad if your GPU isn't properly cooled. Make sure Vsync is on too. If it's off, that will over use your GPU

I see, I just adjusted the FPS to 120, and Vsync is on even before I posted this, now the usage seems normal

Gtx 1050ti here, i don't think it uses 80% but ill check and let you know!

I also have the game beyond ultra settings as ultra isn't even the max settings. If you have ANY kind of TAA on in the game, that will send the use up quite a bit

I am trying to degrade my driver and see if it is still that high, it's pretty weird that Surviving Mars in Ultra don't even costs 60% and this game costs 98% and eventually makes my computer freeze...

You mean try to turn off TAA?

If your card is running hot and locking your PC, that's not the game's fault.. it's your fault for not cooling your GPU properly and cleaning the dust/lint out of it

But I think that 98% usage is absolutely abnormal for a simulation game, especially I am using a top quality graphic card with the lowest graphic preset.

No not really.. I have TWO 1080Tis in SLI mode and I'm at 85-95% usage

Now if you're getting 20-30fps with 80-100% usage, Id say there is a problem.. but if you're getting 60-120 fps , even 100% use is normal

Update:
I changed it to window mode, it starts working well (I assume?), avg 85%~90% usage with the lowest preset, seems a little bit abnormal though. Also, I degraded the graphic card's driver, it seems that there's some problem with the latest graphic card's driver, and the game also have something could be optimized.

I have 120+ fps with 40% cpu usage... maybe dont use 4k?

OMG....I see, then I thinkg this game have somewhere need to be optimized lol, thanks for the information. Btw, it's single 1080 with 80~120 fps windowed be 80%~90%

something is wrong with your rig.. a solo 1080 should run the game in ULTRA @ 60fps with about 80-100% use

Weird, what graphic card are you using? Mine is only FHD, Alienware AW2518HF
