gpu usage 99%?!
i just played a couple minutes and noticed that my gpu has a usage of 99% on lowest and on ultra settings, fullscreen, v-sync off, updated my drivers, not a single change still 99% usage with 65 celcius temperature on 1920x1080

i can play but i am concerned.

my specs should handle this with ease,
intel i7 8700
gtx 1070 gaming x 8g
ddr4 ram 2666-Mhz
installed on ssd
win 10 home

Anyone else have/noticed this issue?

Dude GPU should always be at around 100% usage when playing any game, its normal.

When you turn V-Sync off you essentially tell your GPU to render as many frames ahead as possible, so yea your GPU is going to go flat out, turn V-sync back on to match it to your monitors refrsh rate or set a custom frame limit with Nvidia inspector.

If you have a 60Hz monitor, why render 120 FPS? I don't know what your refresh rate is I'm just speculating. Also 65C is not that hot for normal GPU usage especially at 99%.

Edit: Noticed you tried turning V-sync off after this happened? Or you turned it off at the start?

Not entirely, its normal when you are pushing your GPU to the limit, but a GTX1070 8GB @1080p should not be maxxed out by a game like this, not in a small park any way.

i have tried it with vsync on and off, still run a 60hz monitor

but other games on high/ultra dont even come close to 80% gpu usage, for a game this size i find it very strange

Well I'm not a dev, I can't say what the game is having the GPU render, it might be doing things in the background.

But I can assure you there is absolutely no reason to be concerned. I push my GPU on nearly every game I play due to running at 4k resolution. Playing for hours at a time nearly everyday with my GPU usually sitting at 99%, other than more heat production (mine too sits at 65C) and higher power consumption it is doing what it's designed to do.

99% usage is completely normal. And 65 C is actually low for a GPU under load, you should be concerned if it hits 90+ C.

Nvidia cards can easily go towards 95 witthout concern. So don't worry :)

There's no benefit for this sort of game in having V-sync off for a 60Hz monitor, so just leave it on to save energy and wear & tear.
V sync costs performance omfg. with V-sync on it syncs your Monitor + vertical. Test it in a Game where you barely get 60 FPS then turn V sync on and off and see what happens.
