Dont suppose someone can tell me in a simple way how to power buildings etc, it isnt explained very well in the game

built power station?

build power stations, then use the building-looking pylons (substations?) to power buildings, and use normal pylons to link the building pylons to the power station. sorry for the strange answer, i haven't played the game yet myself and have no idea what each building is actually meant to be called

If I were to put all Power Stations in the same place/area would that affect how they power the whole island? Like, if one were to go out would all be affected? Like, if it were a circuit.

Does not matter where they are so long as they are connected by pylons its fine and only one will be affected assuming its a power outage problem in the case of sabotage they all go off

Good to know at least. Thanks. What if it was a circuit wise? Say two on the same circuit, one loses power, would all circuit lose power, or random? I'm wanting to have a Power Station location to make it more realistic and space efficiently.

im assuming you mean a power station thats connected to another power station thats connected to a pylon and you saying if the one that connected to the pylon goes out they all go out?

The answer is no when the power station goes down the pylons are unaffected so the other power station will still work fine.

Okay thanks. Makes it a lot easier.

a power network needs three things to function (aka be "hot"):
* It needs a powerplant (with a path back to the park entrance) to generate the power
* It needs at least one substation thats near buildings that need power (not all buildings, like shelters, need power).
* It needs powerlines to connect a circuit from the power plants to those substations

As far as I can tell, you can have separate power networks and the total power from all networks is shared across the entire park. Each network needs to generate power, and likewise also draw at least SOME power for the network to be "hot" and contribute to the park.

For example, you could build a powerfarm out in the boonies thats generating 2000 power and as long as its locally powering something (like the monorail to connect the paths), that 2000 power is availible to all other "hot" networks.

THEN, you can have a separate power network elsewhere that generates only 60 power but it can locally meet the 500 unit power demand without needing to connect all the way back to the power farm.

smaller tidbit: electricfied fences DO draw power (they just don't tell you that they do, nor say directly how much, but you can see the extra draw in the managment view after adding some). I didn't check to see if its based on length of a segment or the count of segments, but from what i can tell each segment can take 2 power
