Rock-Paper-Shotgun review and what i fear..

That guy said everything i wonder.. this game is very "simple". And still the devs did not put the real struggle can start like mortal worker/jeeps... but we got something very dull..

Dinos try to escape when they are unhappy... you add more tree/water/space and maybe more dinos to make them happy.. if you don't do it in time they escape and kill some people, but after some seconds everything is ultra fine again.. gen modding is just like +stats skills... you need to make the dinos fight to get more exited park.. ultra dull buildings..

This game needs another year at least to become something..

ok, im not going to die in the next year so im ok with playing while it improves.
If Rock-Paper-Shotgun tells you that jumping off a bridge is healthy, you'll do it?

And those review comparing a finished game (Planet Coaster) that has been released years ago with a brand new one always made me laugh so much. Better than a good comedy movie !

Yes IGN review slowed down my hype but didn't change my mind but rock paper shotgun is normally legit with their reviews... after reading that review earlier today it seriously made me question my buy but I think I am still going to take a chance and preoder it on xbox in a couple hours so I can play it at 8pm tonight. I just hope game isn't something I play for 6-8 hours then never play again... love planet coaster hoping I love this but another worry for me personally is fact is has JP namesake on it and I know that puts limitations on frontier on what they can do with this title.
So far the vast majority of reviews are positive. We have 1 negative (IGN) and one mixed (Rock-Paper-Shotgun) and 16 positive reviews. While we certainly shouldn't just ignore the bad reviews, we also shouldn't ignore all the positive reviews and praise the game received.

People tend to read only the bad ones in fact. :P They want to know what's wrong, not what's good. But it remains true that majority of those reviews are good and shouldn't be ignored.

Rock paper shotgun isn't mixed they clearly state in closing of the review its not a good game, its boring, and only thing it has going for it is pretty dinos.

Guess it's up to interpretation, I was going by the score the game received. Okay then the positive reviews still outnumber the bad reviews heavily. I mean IGN, seriously? They gave Jurassic Park Operation Genesis a 5.9/10 when it launched, the very game everyone here seems to get an orgas.m about. Why would anyone even trust an IGN review, who give call of duty a 9/10 rating each year?

People tend to forget that Planet Coaster was one buggy mess aswell when it got released. But they ironed it out, added content and so on.
It's the Rock-Paper-Shotgun comments that seemed to verify my fears. Doesn't look like a very DEEP game at all and I doubt I'd spend much time with it based on what they said.

"It’s a greater disappointment because it falls so short of Planet Coaster. Frontier has already made the game that shows Evolution where it went wrong. It’s not that Evolution couldn’t have forged its own path, but it throws away lots of proven systems, often without substituting them for anything else. I don’t want to bad-mouth cool dinosaurs, but cool dinosaurs can only carry a game so far." -RPS
This also solidified my worries and I refunded because of it. Sure I could wait it out while they iron out the issues but in comparison to PC on launch the basics of the game were there and solid. Right now it sounds like even the basics in evo are simplistic and repetitive. So may as well get my 60$ back and come back and grab it when it's 25$ in october with all the issues ironed out and a better game

IGN, well, meh, I take their reviews with a salt mine of salt. RPS on the other hand has a ton of strategy heads writing reviews, they all love strategy games. So I take their reviews for any strategy/sim game with way more reverence then the bigger news sites

Yes, what is this nonsense, paying 50 bucks for a finished game. That is absurd. You pay full price, and wait a year for the game to get finished. This is how it should be done.
Why in the world would they lock sandbox mode behind the campaign. Thats just dumb.
And what I fear.... yep fear based post.
Jurassic World Evolution is the most boring of all possible outcomes for a dinosaur theme park sim. There’s no outlet for creativity and, aside from the prehistoric pals you might make, managing the parks just isn’t a lot of fun. By the time I’d unlocked enough to make the sandbox mode live up to its name, I realised I had nothing left to build.

Ouch...
By their own admission, they released this game unfinished. By their own admission.

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brass neck to charge £50 for it.

You did the right thing cancelling. Definitely. If they iron out the problems this game might be worth purchasing, but I've already posted a list of the issues with it based on reviews, public information and live-streams and tonight, in one video review, the "proximity trigger" problem has been made clear and it's a beauty, and a game-breaker.

So there is no chance in Hell I am paying for this until some serious work is done on it, and I do not believe that some of the bigger issues will be fixed for months.

And the day one patch notes for the PS4 are already published. And they ain't great.

Multiple crashes and UI fixes.
Jurassic World Evolution 1.02 updated visual settings.
Added various stability improvements.
Fixed a number of other minor issues.
