Dilophosaurus Size..
Time for the third size thread, I just finished binge watching all 5 movies and I noticed in JW the hologram Dilophosaurus has its true adult size (the JP Dilo was a juvenile, Dennis Nedry literally says "I thought you were one of your bigger brothers" it is not undersized just a juvenile.) so my question is: In JWE will we get a juvenile sized Dilophosaurus or an adult sized Dilophosaurus?

we get a middle-ground sized one by the looks of it.

I'm fairly certain Nedry was thinking it'd be a Raptor.

From the gameplay ive seen it looks to be about the same size as the raptors

She's a pretty big girl. Stands roughly head height to humans.

I think Dennis Nedry probably wasn't that knowledgable about the dinosaurs in the park, and he probably meant other 'bigger' dinosaur species when he said it (although it would have been more interesting if it had been true).

In the novel he didn't even knew what kind of species to expect when he went to the park together with the others to fix bugs in the computer systems. In the novel the Dilophosaurus (whom didn't had a frill but did spit venom) was the same size of the real animal, which is around 7 meters (23 ft) in lenght. A pretty big animal compared to the nerfed version of the movies. It was one of the earliest big theropod dinosaurs.

The way it offed Nedry is one of the more gruesome kills in the novel. You almost feel sorry for the poor sod.

I don't really remember Nedry's death from the books. The way Hammond went was more memorable to me cuz he was more of a d*ck in the books. Breaking his legs and being eaten by Compies felt quite rightous.

Yeah. He had it comming the piece of XXXX who only cared about making money and nothing else. He was not a nice grandpa, that's for sure. Totally different compared to the movie version.

That is Jurassic Park Film concept art, not concept art for Jurassic World: Evolution, as I was speaking for JWE and not the JP film you can watch the last video I linked to see that the Dilophosaurus in JWE is adult sized...

Also in the JP film they made the Dilophosaurus smaller to avoid confusion with the Velociraptors, but they fixed this when Nedry said "thought you were one of your big brothers, you're not so bad." Which confirms it's not an adult in the film.

Well in the book there was a Dilo that was much larger then the one in the movies
Hollywood made the dilo smaller than a raptor because of character representation/identifcation.

The T-Rex is the big threat and the raptors are also a considerable threat. The dilo was just in one scene and making it larger than a raptor or approx size Hollywood believed would cause confusion.

It's a hollywood, dumbing things down situation. Say you have 2 characters in a film and one wears a red shirt and sandals. Character #2 will not wear something similar, but different, say, blue shirt and boots so they are more identifiable.

Just plain ol hollywood. The same way Gennaro was a snivelling whimp in the film, but in the book he is quite fit. Grant and Ellie in the book, colleagues of different ages, in the film, lovers. Cuz hollywood needs a love interest.

Since the movie has been popular all dilos are now portrayed in other games (ARK) as being quite small, just not true. Also the frills...that's hollywood. The spitting, was Crichton trying to jazz the dinosaur up. Same with the carnos and their camo skin in the second book.

And Nedry's qoute would say that it was probably a juvenile which is then confirmed by the hologram in Jurassic World where the Dilo is around the same size as the Raptors.

Nedry , knew nothing about Dinosaurs. It was quite clear het didn't knew which species he was encountering. The character was set as someone who didn't care about it. Just a greedy it nerd

Nedry presumably had been working there for quite a while, meaning that he would at least know a thing or two about what is in the park/what goes on in the park. And whether Nedry knew what he was talking about or not doesn't really matter since as I stated in OP, Jurassic World's hologram Dilophosaurus is around the size of a JP Velociraptor.

Well we all know more about raptors and trex's.. every non expert does.. that point is mute.. the raptor is even in the opening scene.. which is why nedry probably knows better.

Everthing else is artistic freedom, either from writer, producer, gamedeveloper. No archeologist in the bunch i fear
