Dinosaur DNA & breeding
So from watching a YouTube personality playing this game I saw how he excavated sites for DNA, which improved the viability from the starting 50%. He created a 50% Dino, and then went further into modifying the DNA, improving the viability to 75%ish...

So my questions are this... Are those two dinos a "different" species from each other? Perhaps a sub-species?
If "life will find a way" and the animals can breed, what will you get with the same species mixing with a sub-species?
In other words, does this game allow for hybridization? It does happen in nature quite often with California King Snakes breeding with Corn Snakes, you get a wild mix of colors.
Same can be said of various constrictor types as well as literally HUNDREDS of hybrids from Lake Victoria Cichlids!

So do they have this in the game? If that is modeled it will be great fun!

I watched my daughter playing SIMS-3 nonstop messing with the DNA of her town! Everyone were cousins, LOL!

No, they're the same species.

I'd wager that higher percentage genome simply means longer life-span (as it did in JPOG) and stats, even though I dislike the dinosaurs having stats and I assume, a higher percentage of genome allows for more modifications than a lower percentage.

Hybridization is already confirmed.
i dont think breeding will be a thing since how, all the dinos are female

DJ,

Do you remember the first movie? All those dinos were female as well... Remember they use metamorphic frog DNA
trueeeeee but still i dont think breeding will happen

They already confirmed all dinosaurs were female. It's disappointing since baby dinosaurs were featured in Jurassic World. I think adding a frog gene to your dino's genome that enabled breeding and mating would be cool. It seems lazy to exclude this. I think it would be a really cool update to do a few months after release. It is one of the most requested features thus far.

Maybe because in the context of building a park, the idea of female dinosaurs rules.

In the context of having a disaster, yes, they change gender.

Inardesco,

Are you saying that having males creates disaster? LOL

If we're to believe all those feminists, yes.

Or not if we're to listen to Dr. Satler.

In Evolution you'll have the choice to use other species DNA instead of the frog.

Just to recap all the dev videos i've watched sprinkled in with a bit of speculation to answer your questions.

1 - no they are not different species - likely you are taking the DNA from dino (Lets go with a Rex) but you dont get enough to make a full DNA replica, so you find another adult Rex fossile and get the DNA from that one. They are not related - but they are the same species. You dont care about a family composition you just need the stuff that makes a Rex a Rex and then you fill in the rest with frog, chicken, scorpion, etc etc DNA.

2. There will be no breeding in the game - the devs have confirmed up to this point atleast, that all dinos created in your lab will be female and unable to mate with oneanother (Keeping to JP1 cannon)

3. According to the Devs, you can not hybridize anything yourself. Meaning we cant take a Trex and mix it with a Carnotaurus - however, any hybrids in the JP world (Indominus Rex) can be created - we just cant invent dinos that dont exist in the JP/JW universe.

4. Kissing cousins? ewwwww
