The classification of a dinosaur (giant, small, armored etc.) can be found in its info tab (or online).
+ Small and large carnivores do NOT attack each other (includes Indominus Rex)
- - exception: Indoraptor does attack small carnivores
+ No carnivores attack giant herbivores
- - exception: Indominus Rex does attack though
- - exception 2: the new Nigersaurus is attacked by large carnivores, treat him as armored herbviore instead!
+ small carnivores do not attack armored herbivores
- - treat Nigersaurus as armored in terms of this rule
- - by implication large carnivores do attack armored
+ obv. small and medium herbivores are attacked by any carnivore eventually
+ large carnivoes fight with large carnivores
+ small carnivores fight with small carnivores (Troodon for the win!)
There are few more factors to take into account like tranq state of a dino, feeding status, storms, mission scripting, but that's basically how you can keep dinos together in enclosures.
However, it is programmed to fight the smaller carnivores, mainly members of its own kind (Deinonychus, Troodon and etc.) Anything else bigger than a Herrerasaurus the Velociraptor won't engage in deadly combat, but will try to size itself up against the opponent or won't attack it at all.
Tip: If you're willing to house a Velociraptor with any of the larger carnivores: placing several carnivore feeders with prevent your raptors from starving. Larger theropods are very territorial and will scare scavengers away from their rashen(s).
Caution: Velociraptors live in groups of 2 or 6 any more beyond that limit will have your pack fighting each other dominance. In addtion their comfort threshold will start going down... so make sure you breed any more before a storm. Keep in mind you can modify and raise their comfort and social threshold in the H.C.L. (Hammond Creation Lab) with the Social and Stress Inhibitor genomes (these mods are optional in the Sandbox as you can change the settings to alter a dinosaur's behavior.)
