Feeder Strategy
Hello all,
I'm sure that many of us want "auto feeders" rather than doing repeated chores of feeding dinosaurs. I know it is in sandbox, but isn't in campaign.

What's the best way to do feeders? How many feeders per dinosaurs in each pen? Place rangers right by dinosaur pens? Any tips?

Thanks!

each feeder can feed 3 dinosaurs at a time. Depending on the amount of animals you have in one enclosure I'd advice you get more than a single one.

As for rangers, get the scheduling upgrade and just send them on routine feeder refills. There's extended feeders for everything but palaeo and fish feeders.

I agree with above.

Refilling foodstations is part of the 'managing' game (yeah, lame).
Or if you regard JPE more as a rts game, sending units to deal with threats.

+ There is an unlock later in the game that allows for feeders with much higher capacities.

+ Also every feeder can be set to a different replenish time. Click on feeder, first or second tab (depends) there is the timer when to automatically replenish from reserves.
It is a good idea to set the timer higher if the usuage does not display 'high' (or better).
For medium usuage I play around with 16 minutes instead of the default 8 (depends on number and type of dinos though). It needs a bit of experimenting.
There is even a button "replenish now once" in case you need food immediately, but don't want to change the timer settings.

+ Put several feeders in an enclosures. If you do you can increase the replenish time of feeder or you waste food (and money and time).

+ Press R to open closest rangers' station. Among my most used shortcuts were R and T in this game.

+ Increase the ranger scheduling so that a single ranger covers 3-4 tasks (maximum 7 tasks, but then you forfeit accuracy upgrades).
Rarely a feeder needs to be resupplied immediately so you can group tasks (unless you have too few in an enclosure for too many hungry mouths).

It is not necessary to put rangers close by to increase feeder resupply, you usually do not need more than 1 or maybe 2 ranger stations (Isla Muerta requieres 2 imo). I think the maximum I had was on Isla Sorna with 3 stations for the 3 areas.

Thanks! There's no auto scheduling, isn't it?

No, no automatic scheduling for ranger tasks.
