How big is the free roam area(s)?

I'm assuming this game has a free roam area(s) like the past game but I'm wondering how big is it? Is it one big area like New York City or is it lots of little areas like in Lego Batman 3?

I think it's one big area but it has different "districts" and this area in the sky. Apparently it's the biggest they've made

Awesome, I loved New York city but absolutely hated what they did in Lego Batman 3.

I was wondering, if it would be like Manhattan in SUPERHEROES 2 and AVENGERS... but I only read in one article, that free play would start after the story campaign?! There is so little information to find about free roaming world hubs in SUPER HEROES 2, that I only believe it, when I see it xD

Free play becomes available once you reach the Secret Empire district, and the fully unlocked city becomes available after the you defeat Man Thing

When you say 'fully unlocked' you mean all of NY as in the previous two games?

Also...thought Man Thng was a good guy (Marvel's paralel to Swamp Thing)

Just finished that part and unlocked it all and he is but it all makes sense in the story and no there isn't all of New York, there's some of New York, some of other New Yorks and loads more, I don't wanna spoil whats in the map. But it definitely seems bigger than New York. and it's so much more interesting and varied, it's a lot of fun.

I preferred the big New York from the previous games, felt far more immersive.
