Problem authenticating, but Ubisoft Connect uses same account
I can't start the game (although I have played it before) I get the message: there was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product.
I checked Ubisoft Connect and It uses the same account (E-mail address). Googling the interwebs doesn't resolve in any helpful tips.
Did someone run into the same problem?

apologies for the delay in getting back to you, and sorry to hear that you are getting an Authentication Error. This error mainly occurs when you are logged in with the incorrect Ubisoft account. You need to use the same Ubisoft account that was originally used for activating and playing the game on. You can read more on that here - https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000066178

Can you confirm if The Crew 2 is greyed out when you are logged into Ubisoft Connect with your Ubisoft account?

I am experiencing the same issue right now. Although I'm not sure what you meant about greyed-out but I can see the appropriate colors from my Ubisoft Connect PC library. Tried to run the game through steam and vice versa and it has the status labelled as "Running", but I get the ownership authentication error "Incorrect Ubisoft Account".

I have the same issue right now.

I think there's a problem on the server side because many players are facing similar issues

Hey Exer26 and Cag,

There was an issue earlier today where the authentication issue occurred on all Ubisoft titles, which has since been resolved.

The issue should now be resolved and players should not receive the message any more (unless you are logged in with the incorrect account.)
