photo mode crashes the game

do you have a problem with the photo mode? for me it randomly crashes the entire game to the desktop when i close photo mode, but only after taking a photo. If i don't take a photo, I can open and close as many times as i want

the second problem is more annoying because it crashes when i click the "take picture" button while doing a photo ops task. it's like: boom, fu * ck you, mission failed, try again. once the game manages to take a photo before crashing, but still fails the task, and other times it will complete the task and also add motion blur even though the vehicle was not moving... just like here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2132049859

i was looking for an answer/solution to this problem but i found nothing :(

I do not think any of these issues have been brought up to our game team before, therefore we would need to investigate this further.

In order to resolve this, first I would recommend to look at verifying your game files[support.ubisoft.com].

If issue persists, is there any possibility you could send us video footage of both of these issues occurring? If not, it's fine, however it would be very much beneficial when passing along to our game team.

In order for us to proceed with this, if file verification didn't help, can you visit our Support website[support.ubi.com], login, select 'Contact Customer Support', and submit a ticket by providing details of this issue, as well as uploading your system files (DxDiag[support.ubisoft.com] and MsInfo[support.ubisoft.com]), that will allow us to get a better insight on the issue and see whether we can determine what is the reason for this to happen.

pretty much, yeah... personally i gave up on ubisoft forever after playing the crew 2 – copy of the crew 1 without even fixing any bugs or glitches, downgrade of the gameplay feeling and filled the game with paid stuff which is the only thing that gets updates constantly...

It's a shame I also have the same exact problem and even debugged it myself and provided all my information to UbiSchoft because I am a developer myself I thought I'dd run some tests. Just making the location on your hard drive not read only and accessible to all or running the game in Administrator mode doesn't solve the issue. It seems to have something to do with cache that is not being able to be written or read again to convert to the final image on your computer.

Still hoping they fix this and patch it or that I find a solution myself....

So also append to me on my PC, so for good practice I try the game on Nvidia NOW and I'm still crashing, but this time with a MSVCpp Runtime Error message...
So I guess is just the game that is broken.

same thing for me, and because of it i can't unlock the last achievement for doing 40 photo ops (fun fact: on ubisoft connect i unlocked the achievement)

Here's a solution that worked for me.
I unlinked some accounts from my Ubisoft account (namely Amazon and Xbox, make sure to keep atleast Steam on) https://account.ubisoft.com/en-US/account-information , and ran the game as an administrator
After this the game didn't crash anymore and finally got the achievement

Did you already do 40 photo ops before you unliked accounts?

Its November 29 and I have the same issue on Xbox Series S and it's so annoying.

Hilarious that it's not fixed AND broken on multiple platforms. It used to work on launch back on PS4
