Controller xbox one buttons sudenly messed up
Hello,

The title pretty much explains my problem. After playing the game for over 20 hours without any problems today i logged in and my button configuration is messed up. B is down, A is up, the left pad stopped working, etc. If I quit and start the game, again the bindings are lost, Even if I reconfigure and i try to play, i cant because the car moves on its on like my controller it's not calibrated, despite the fact it is...

Tried with a different usb cable/ xbox one controller - same problem.

Controllers work perfectly in any other games.

Any ideea?

We're sorry to hear that's occurring.

Do you have multiple control devices plugged in? Anything that might potentially be conflicting with the controls, this can be a joystick or even a drawing tablet.

Hello and thx for reply

No other device connected. But my problem is not hardware, it's something in the game config, this is the default configuration, the keys are binded this way in options/key mapping. If I hold "B" to reset to defaults, nothing happends after reset. This is the default configuration of my gamepad now, it's not anything related to hardware I guess. I try reseting the keys in game menu and while playing, it doesn't work. Is there any way to delete the game config file and start with game default settings?

I also verified instalation on steam, reinstalled XBOX drivers, restarted PC. I repeat, The Crew is the only game where my gamepads have this behaivour, they work perfectly in any other games.
Here is my controller file. I'm using an xbox 1 controller. I also put the file to read only so the game can't modify it or delete it. You can always go in and change the read only by right clicking on the file choosing properties and unchecking read only box at the bottom of the properties box.

The file goes in the documents\the crew 2 folder.

Weird. That should of worked. As the only buttons i switched was the drag racers gear shifting.
Something else must be wrong then. Try another usb port on your pc. It's a weird situation you got there. Sorry my file didn't work for you.

stupid question of the day; But how did you save that file?

Right clicked on it properties then checked read only. Then right click on then chose add to rar. Then I uploaded it to my second drive account. I never messed with the file. Just rared it in the same folder as it was in.

what i meant was, where did you save it from inside of the game? I don't any controller settings file at all. (Or rather, i cant find any)
Try your documents folder. Hope you can understand an xml file.

New Xbox series x controller via bluetooth triggers do not work in the game. Only sticks work. Firmware new.

same problem here with bluetooth connection (X Series X controller). Via USB cable works well, but using bluetooth connection the bindings go messed up (triggers not working etc...)

I have this problem too. Playing The Crew 2 with my Bluetooth-connected Xbox One controller, A and B are mapped to the start and menu buttons, Up is mapped to the A button, etc. I guess it's an error in the game code, that they are hopefully working on (especially since I bought this Xbox controller specifically to play this game).

Actually, I just tried to play Outer Wilds and Firewatch, and the button mappings are fubared there too. So this looks like a Windows issue.

I found a fix - at least it helped me to play normally with new xbox controller through bluetooth, try it

It seems like this hasn't been fixed, huh? I have the same issue. Only happens with The Crew 2.
