The arcade physics is worrisome.
Why do arcade games have to have such rediculous physics I don't get it. I would love this game if the handling was more real and you couldn't just fly a plane perfectly fine smacking against things. I wan't to like this game; the boat racing aspect seems like it could be fun but with such over the top arcade physics it just feels a bit lazy. I watched a bit of dirtbiking gameplay and OMG... what a nightmare.. I just don't know. I'm starting to feel like the devs are just using arcade physics as an excuse for it's flaws. Please someone knock some sense into me because the concept of the game seems great but if it's going to make me feel like a rockstar without trying.. I'll pass.

Its an arcade game + videos always make the cars look like they drive more arcady than what they actually are

1000% AGREE. Flying a plane is harder in this game than real life.. A banks plane in this game doesn't even turn...it keeps flying straight in this game. I just don't get it devs. Please release something that fixes this. Maybe play x-plane once. Or better yet, go fly a real plane.

I actually dont mind the physics of the game. I'm not a big fan of simulation though. To each his own I guess.

TC2 is about competition, not physics. It doesn't claim to be a simulation and it sure as hell isn't. But what it is, is a lot of fun! If the idea of competing against thousands of other people in different contests of skill every week is something that interests you, then TC2 may be for you.

Indeed. The game is an arcade racer. It's not meant to be a simulation.

If you are experiencing trouble in competing I strongly urge you to check out some of the more elite players' YouTube channels.

A good one for each and every Summit is Akor_ channel. The day after a new Summit he posts a video of how he did the Summit. At the end he shares his pro-tuning settings. I have always found them to be incredibly useful.

I've also used his videos on pro-tuning for the best vehicles. Both before the handling changes and after them.

I honestly cannot recommend his videos more highly.

I also found Black Pantha's video on using the RUF in drift events invaluable. It's still my go to drift vehicle.

You can also check out Race Master Dave's videos for pro-tuning.

In PvP everyone has the same parts, however pro-tuning matters. And it can make a huge difference.

That of course is only if you give a darn about PvP.

I kind of do as I dream of the day I might make Gold 4.

I'm currently (and have been for weeks now) Silver 1 in PvP.

However, I've found that having pro-tuning tweaked on some vehicles has made all the difference.

And I say that whilst acknowledging the fact that I am sub-par in my driving abilities. However, having my pro-tuning tweaked nicely I can and have managed to place when perhaps my abilities alone might not have allowed me to do so.

This game is pretty bad if you ask me, At least comparing it to other arcade race games, I think Forza got it decently close, tho I guess it would depend on every ones taste but im not a huge fan on how the cars and everything feels to be honest.

Play around with the Control settings and then look into pro-tuning. Both can make a huge difference in how vehicles handle.

This video is good in going over the Control settings (not pro-tuning, things like "steering linearity")

Hope some of that is useful to you. =)

i want a full fledged offshore boat racing sim with these graphics. sooo many car and plane games its redundant.
Clu Feb 4, 2020 @ 8:17am
I really like the arcade style of the game, makes it not a chore to play and good to switch off to.

guys try hydrosim its free and so gorgeous and polished. vr support. if youd like to race me add me.

Nobody gonna mention, how cars are literally sucked to the ground?

So glad for trial version before I bought this. It has the same control/physic issues as I felt with Steep. All so stiff and feels like you're overly grounded/battling against being on rails.
(same engine?)

I was so very in the mood for something like this but it just does not feel good to play, not for me.

I'll have to give that a try, Though I'm dealing with another problem which I made a topic for but it got deleted for some reason, been to busy to long into steam to know what went on in that topic. The game plays fine and is locked at 60fps at 2560x1440 but boy does it feel choppy, vsyc on or off, low graphics settings it don't matter, mostly around cities, 1920x1080 its fine and smooth no matter the setting. So yeah been messing with things to see if I Can smooth it out.
