What do I think?

Simple. The pros in this game far outweigh all of the cons.

Just a quick list of tings in this game that are huge pros.

(this list is not enumerated by my own preferences or anyone else's views, it's just a list as they popped into my head).

1. Huge world map. This game has a huge open world. You can, right away, go on a road trip across the US. East to west, west to east, Miami to Seattle and everything in between. Lots of different terrain across the game world.

2. TONS of vehicles. I must own a few hundred vehicles at this point, or at least it sure feels like it.

3. Ongoing new content. Nothing earth shaking for the most part but we are still getting new content at year two.

4. Multiple disciplines in terms of racing. Not to mention that you have multiple classes of land vehicles, plus hovercraft. After that you even have power motor boats and planes to utilize. There are so many different things to do in this game!

5.While in game populations fluctuates in terms of time of day/night (taking ones time zone into account) and when new content and/or free weekends land, you can usually manage to get a PvP lobby if you want one.

Anyway, that's some stuff off the top of my head.

Cons, well, certainly they exist, like...

1. Exploiting "Back on Track" in PvP and Summits. The devs have done some fixes with gates but there's so much more needing to addressed.

2. (Note: I personally don't necessarily view this as a con). When a Summit awards a vehicle for making Platinum that vehicle tends to be noticeably better than the base model(s).

3. (meh).

Honestly, I don't see more cons.

Do I complain about things in this game? Most certainly! But in the end, I am a huge booster of this game. Two years old now and you can often get the Game and the Season Pass for super cheap. And they are still adding some content here and there.

There's no pay to win. The pay for stuff is basically if you want vanities and don't do your daily contracts for CCs. Purely optional stuff that in no way makes a difference.

9/10

3. Very grindy. This game will feel like a grind at times but if you treat it as a game that you're going to be playing and progressing at a little at a time, it doesn't feel like a chore but just regular "playing of the game".

Can't seem to stress that point enough. There are going to be a ton of stuff you can achieve but you got to take it in strides and not try to rush your progression. As an example, I'm 2 years into this game and I'm only a rank ICON 1283. There are exactly 9999 rank levels, so do you see where I'm going with this?

While you will definitely feel the grinding start to set in, stick with it and remember that this is a game first and foremost.

I am curious.. compared to heat how is this game holding up? (assuming I'm getting gold edition)

When I heard you can ride superbikes in first person I'm so buying it, but still some more info won't hurt

Ive played heat and tc2 is better in every way

the superbikes are cool but that fact is about 0,0000001%of the game so far so good luck buying it and playing only the superbikes

I mean it's a nice feature that I can do once in a while, I'm not planning to play the entire game on a bike. So far from what I've seen it's gonna be a blast compared to heat, I'm tired of that game cops somehow catching up to my 400+ rating supercars with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ car and not having cockpit view

When I review games I do it Pro/Con style so I'll just copy and paste my review I left on the store page.

For me the cons way outweigh the pros but since I already bought the game I still play it. I just can't play for more than a couple of hours without getting really pissed at how stupid they set up this game.

"Great idea. Terrible Execution. Buy on sale only.
People have been complaining about the headlight issue, mentioned under 'cons', for 2 years now and Ubisoft have acknowledged the complaints, but haven't done anything about it.

Pros:
-Huge map based on USA means you can take random road trips in almost any car
-Lots of vehicles
-Multiple race types

Cons:
-Headlights are useless. Even on Rally vehicles with light bars, you can't see **** at night. Not only that but you can't turn them on or off at will so when its dusk and your lights dont come on you really cannot see anything. I've lost races because of this.
-heaven forbid you click out of the game because whenever I do the game has an absolute seizure and I have to force stop it and restart it. Its super easy to click out of the window when you have to move your mouse to look around. which brings me too...
-wonky camera controls and bad angles. Very little control and often leave you blindly missing corners you KNEW were there.
-on screen text and graphics that regularly block your view while driving at high speeds.
-Terrible U.I. (Want to exit the game? Press "B" to bring up "Tools" which is where you will find "Quit Game" because that makes tons of sense.)
-They had Turbo Blow off Valve noises that they just took out of the game. Why? I dunno.
-They dont give you much info about many of your options/quests/etc. and the information they do give is often to confusing. i.e "Beat Rival's Score" but I have no idea how to find out what Rival's Score is. Also, I wasn't even aware I had a rival.
-Grindy as hell.
-Drifting and Hovercars suck. Other games have done these much better and I HATE these races in Crew 2.
-A fully upgraded Hummer H2 can hang with a fully upgraded bike.
-Generally fail at "quality of life" options (as I've heard them called). For example, there is an option to restart a race after you've completed it. However, it only hangs around on screen for 5 seconds. You have to hold the N button for 2 seconds to activate it. If you wait 4 seconds to press and hold N, it won't do anything as the option will 'time out' before your button is 'charged'. If you miss it it can take a long time (relative to the game) to go restart the race. What about the loot that gets dropped after the races? If you want to install them you will definitely miss the timeout and have to jump through more hoops?
-You can't race across classes like the trailer is showing. You can't race Street Cars against Touring cars against Rally Cars etc. unless you do so in Free Roam and that gets old quick.
-No cops. Anywhere. The were in The Crew 1 and got removed for some reason. How did Most Wanted give us the best cops in an open world racing game and we've been going downhill ever since? Also, we're illegally street racing. Why is no one trying to stop us?

As other players in the forums have noted, this game has gone fore quantity over quality. When it works it's fun but there's so many annoying little things that I end up playing for only a couple of hours max before heading off to other games.

I wouldn't spend more than $15-20 on this."

No police like the crew 1 made ♥♥♥♥ fun, and pretty much if you expoilt you win
Lady Dormouse Jun 30, 2020 @ 10:52pm
Personally, I find the lack of cops a nice plus to the game.
