In what ways do you think the game would benefit from having VR support?
I play a lot of vr driving/flying/Space titles like assetto corsa Project Cars 2, I love the feeling of actually being inside the cars but they lack the freedom when you are trapped on the track in those games. The ability to fly in vr is also amazing I bet the boats would be fun too. There is Nothing out there in VR like the crew 2 and I know Ubi has taken some steps in the VR space but this would be the one that breaks through in my opinion.
There is currently a gap in the market for open world VR driving even more so for a game that also allows other travel too. But the main lure for me is to just drive the open road in VR. Virtual Reality is so immersive that you feel like you are actually there.
I hope you guys are doing some R&D in this field. There is nothing like this right now.
It is hard to put into words how much I would like to see it I am sure there are many others that feel the same.
Best Regards

So if you're asking how the gameplay itself will benefit, then it would be better and far far more immersive. If you're asking how the game would benefit financially to invest in VR compatibility... well I don't know that it would.
If you added VR like project CArs 1/2 aseto corsa for Oculus, that would be great!
I would support a VR option if was done well, I'm sure the VR community will happily beta test so that you guys can do this with as much community support as you need.
When big name devs take on VR great things can happen, Rockstar had LA Noir VR which was amazing for their first VR title. Think of this as Ubisoft's entry into the crazy world of VR.
- The speed illusion is amazing in VR
- You could move the Head (point of view) of the driver from inside the car freely while driving allowing you get a more real way to play even if the game is no a realistic 100% simulator.
- The immersion level of the player goes over 9000
- The game itself gains a new wave of players as VR Portfolio is full of hungry players of good quality car games like this one. (no kidding)
- All of the above still count even if the PoV is outside the car...and it works GREAT!!
Quick Video examples (remember that VR Players do not see this video quality but instead they are there like if the game was a real thing):

If you confirm adding VR support, I'll buy the game :)
PS: Will expand this with an additional video that I'm looking for...
Have you ever used VR before? With a game like this EVERYTHING would benefit from added VR support. Especially sales. Money. $$$. We know Ubi likes that cash!
Yeah, uh, it would benefit the game because then the game would have VR support.
I had The Crew 2 on my wishlist since preorders started. I finally removed it when I accepted that VR support would not be coming. I'm only here now because someone mentioned this thread on Reddit, and if there's a ray of hope I'll support it.
And that answewrs the real question - how would it benefit Ubisoft?
It would put the series ahead of the curve and on the radar for a small, but rapidly growing and future invested player base that is also very vocal.
And since Forza Horizon dominates the open world racing space right now, but doesn't support VR, it would give The Crew 2 a much needed edge. An edge TC2 should have embraced from the start, but didn't because all Ubisoft sees is the size of the market measured by today's sales.
If Slightly Mad entered the open world space, stagnant devs like T10/Playground and the ghost of Eden at Ubisoft would be starting from square one and playing catchup with this userbase. If TC2 adds VR, it could get ahead of that curve and buy some good will with this userbase. Tough call, but maybe the bean counters should consider VR again.
