For the Bumper perk you make notice sometimes when you almost crash into something your vehicle will glance off the object. Bumper just increases the chance that you might glance off something rather than crash into it fully.
Shouldn't it be the opposite? Unless I am missing something. Seems to me that if my speed waits to increase until I am x-distance ahead of the racers, then shouldn't the point I gain speed be closer to the racer, not further away? Seems to me that spending points on this would be a waste if the more you have the further away you have to be before the speed boost kicks on. I would rather it start sooner. No?
It's more like this. Without the perk you would gain that speed boost if you were anywhere between 1-50 yards ahead of someone. With some points in the perk that area that enables you to get more speed is increased. You would be able to get a speed boost anywhere between 1-100 yards ahead of someone thus giving you more time to gain speed from being in front of someone.
Hope that makes more sense.
Okay so I am a little confused. You are saying that this speed boost only works within a small window?
I assumed it worked the entire time you were ahead of the AI. Meaning that as long as you were ahead, you would continue to get the speed boost. But I think what you are saying is that once you get further ahead, the benefit stops and only kicks in within a very small window of distance, say between 50 and 100 feet? So once you are more than 100 feet away, then you no longer receive the benefit?
"Increase distance detection of the Drag Bump" is increasing that area that you recieve the speed boost.
