Uplay Key Activation

Right after starting the game on Steam, Uplay asks to activate the key of the game copy. Yet, Steam does not provide any. Am i just blind, or is this another joke i just cease to find funny?

UPDATE
Alright everyone, 1,088 replies and over 6 hours later, the issue got fixed, finally. Enjoy the game, everyone!

This is for the pre order I believe. The game will unlock at 12:01 AM your LOCAL TIME. Then you can activate on Uplay.

it's 9:21 am, of 29th of june here in my country

it's 12:21 local time, the game "unpacked" and we can "play" it, but we do not have cdkey, when we push play, Uplay open and ask for a CDkey and since we do not have one, we can't play
